The Real-Time Payments (RTP) team is seeking an experienced Product Architect (VP) to shape the functional architecture of our expanding Account-to-Account (A2A) Services portfolio. This role is pivotal in designing scalable, reusable service capabilities that leverage Mastercard's existing assets and deliver exceptional customer and end-user experiences. The ideal candidate is passionate about architectural excellence, customer experience, and enabling rapid product delivery in a dynamic, global environment.

In this strategic position, you will:• Define the functional architecture for RTP A2A Services, ensuring modularity, scalability, and reusability across markets and propositions.• Translate business and customer needs into clear functional specifications, service flows, and reusable design components.• Map and refine user journeys and end-to-end service experiences for banks, fintechs, PSPs, merchants, and consumers.• Leverage Mastercard assets (e.g., tokenisation, fraud services, settlement, authentication) to accelerate delivery and enhance solutions.• Serve as a bridge between Product, Engineering, Architecture, Security, and Regional teams to ensure alignment from concept to delivery.• Establish and maintain architectural standards, reusable patterns, and documentation for A2A Services.• Provide guidance to Engineering teams during build, integration, and testing to ensure architectural integrity and compliance with Mastercard's technology, security, and operational standards.

The ideal candidate for this position should:• Demonstrate advanced expertise in product architecture, functional design, solution design, or product engineering within payments, banking, or financial technology.• Possess strong knowledge of real-time payments, A2A services, open banking, payment schemes, or merchant/PSP payment flows.• Show proven ability to create user journeys, process models, functional specifications, and service interaction flows.• Be familiar with Mastercard services and platforms (e.g., fraud services, tokenisation, settlement, APIs, security frameworks).• Influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment in a complex matrix environment.• Communicate design choices clearly to senior stakeholders, engineers, and commercial teams.• Deliver scalable, reusable service architectures across products or markets.• Exhibit a customer-obsessed, analytical, and collaborative mindset, comfortable working in ambiguity and passionate about architectural excellence.
