Job Description

The Global Client Team is a high-performing exception to Visa’s regional operating model. It exists to provide a differentiated sales and service model for a small number of Visa’s largest global clients with: 1) significant business operations across 3 or more Visa regions, 2) the capacity to grow significantly with Visa, and 3) executives who value a strategic partnership orientation. The Global Client Team has thoughtfully constructed a model that aims to deliver seamless global support to clients through intense focus on supporting the global account executives and the needs of the clients. As a result, over the past two years, clients in this segment have grown net revenues across all 3 Visa business lines at nearly double the rate of Visa’s overall growth targets. Accounts in the Global Client Team include global financial institutions, enablers, and remitters.

This role will be a member of the Global Clients Leadership Team, with direct sales and relationship responsibility for one of the largest acquiring enablers in the global ecosystem. Specifically, this sales and business development general management role will drive the following:

Proven Relationship and Business Development:

  • Manage and orchestrate all client business relationships at a global, regional, and market level to ensure that Visa is the partner of choice for growing share, expanding sales, and delivering enterprise net revenue.
  • Drive superior engagement with client executives while also managing the day-to-day account delivery of multi-regional accounts. This requires the ability to influence a wide variety of internal business partners to ensure that Visa stakeholders are aligned at all points of client interaction to deliver targeted support, strategic roadmaps, and exceed account level targets.
  • Provide leadership and focus to drive results as “One Visa” given complex buyer decision-making across multiple markets as well as at a global headquarters.
  • Deliver aggressive client account growth plans focused on Visa acquirer processing products and value-added services, including traditional payment products, emerging digital solutions, money movement solutions, bespoke white-labeled services, and/or open platform extensions to processors.

Financial and Deal Acumen:

  • Proven ability to direct deal analytics and collaborate with the Global Deals team to structure and navigate global deals, including presentation of deal strategy and economics for executive level approvals.
  • Manage delivery of contracts ensuring contractual targets and obligations are met or exceeded, including a proactive, growth-oriented approach to contract extensions, renewals, and amendments.
  • Develop annual operating plan and expense budgets for the segment, then managing to that plan with discipline throughout the year.

Team Success Orientation – Enable and Champion a Collective Success Model

  • Responsible for managing a team of experienced account executives aligned with the Global Client Team’s primary focus of serving account executives and their clients. The success of this role requires a servant leader mindset whose focus is helping the account executives grow Visa’s business across all business lines.
  • Manage and activate multi-regional account teams, both direct and matrix, orchestrating the best of Visa’s global resources to win business across a range of capabilities and geographies.
  • Build a culture of positivity, encouraging break-through thinking and ambition, where collective success is enabled and celebrated.

Travel Requirements

  • This role involves substantial domestic and international travel, anticipated to be approximately 25% of working time.

This position is full-time. Location is London and is a hybrid role with expectation in the office 3 days per week when not traveling.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 8 years of work experience with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 15 years business development experience with related processing sales and relationship management experience with annual targets exceeded consistently.
  • Credible mastery of the global Acquirer business enabling nuanced executive business development discussions and negotiations.
  • A track record of establishing authentic long-term, trust-based relationships with senior-level executives at large, complex organizations.
  • Known for collaborative and humble leadership with a passion for enabling others success. Naturally role models Visa’s Leadership Principles, creating an environment where people perform at the highest levels in their career.
  • Significant experience leading, aligning, and motivating matrixed and geographically diverse teams to deliver unified client impact.
  • Significant experience planning, managing and closing complex sales efforts, including difficult contract negotiation and ensuring capabilities and capacity for post-deal execution.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to establish trusted and effective working relationships across all levels of management.
