The Vehicle Logistics Planner is part of the global Commercial Operations team. This individual will co-ordinate the day-to-day logistics network, systems and processes that will facilitate the delivery our finished vehicles in our six sales regions.  Collaborating across internal stakeholders and external Logistics Service Providers (LSP) to prepare, monitor and drive distribution quality and service through our supplier and retailer network, while ensuring SLAs are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Create electronic transport bookings and supporting documents, ensuring service levels are maintained, closing transport bookings on systems to generate invoicing
  • Ensuring vehicle visibility, track and trace at every step
  • Become an IT systems super-user within Outbound Logistics for both SAP and the LSP interface, collaborating with IT to develop the system where required
  • Supporting the transit damage claim process / portal
  • Support the freight audit and billing process to ensure accurate invoicing against the supplier service contracts and freight rates, supporting management with internal budgetary reviews
  • Support the supplier performance review process, including KPI monitoring and reporting versus agreed SLAs
  • Helping to drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Escalating any operational exceptions.
  • First contact for any internal logistics enquiries 
  • Collating weekly and monthly reports on vehicle movements for reconciliation and KPIs

Qualifications:

  • Experience in multi-modal logistics operations is essential
  • Specific logistics experience within finished vehicle distribution is highly advantageous 
  • Proficient in current logistics documentation and terminology
  • Previous experience using IT solutions and tracking systems within a logistics / international trade environment
  • Good knowledge of the primary KPIs that drive logistics delivery performance
  • Experience in damage claims management and assessment is advantageous
  • A good awareness of Incoterms and international trade requirements
  • Previous experience with SAP highly desirable
  • Able to engage both internal stakeholders and logistics service providers at all levels
