More about our mission and what we offer.
Job DescriptionAbout the programme:
In 2023, we founded a Design Interns programme and we’re delighted to welcome new talent to our award-winning team for a fourth season.
We are looking for rising stars to join our Design & Research collective for a ten week paid internship programme. While our craft is varied, human-centred design and design thinking unite more than 100 Designers and researchers at Wise.
Our interns work on real projects that solve real customer problems and the programme includes opportunities to learn about the whole of the business and develop confidence in public speaking. They leave us with a refined case study to share in interviews as they begin their careers.
Your mission:
You’ll be part of Wise’s global mission to build an open, fair, and human financial system - to make money without borders the new norm. Because people without borders need money without borders.
You'll be matched with a Wise sponsor in Design, collaborating with other Wisers and fellow interns on cross-functional projects. We plot our moves every quarter, and your mission will be mapped out with your sponsor. You’ll have plenty of room to help define the scope of the project you work on.
Here’s how you’ll be contributing:
You’ll get to know Wise customers, building empathy and deep understanding of their needs
You’ll be honing and flexing your craft skills in a collaborative environment
You’ll be connecting with your sponsor, fellow interns, and the broader design community to inject fresh creative thinking into the business
About you:
You graduate in Summer of 2027 OR you are self taught and working to switch careers to Design.
You have:
The ability to contextualise and build a narrative around your work
Analytical, assessment and problem solving skills, you’re a proactive problem finder, not just a problem solver
An open attitude to feedback and willingness to learn
Foundational skills of the discipline you are applying for (we don’t expect you to know everything, but you need to have enough skill to navigate the organisation and work)
You have a good understanding of different qualitative and quantitative research methods and are interested in applying them in a commercial setting.
You’ve been accountable during your studies for all or a part of a research project from start to finish, and are able to talk about how you planned the research, picked your methodology, and your approach to data analysis.
You might not know anything about tech - that's ok - so long as you have a strong understanding of what good research looks like
You’re able to clearly rationalise and explain your decisions to other team members
You’re naturally curious about people and ready to question assumptions about people
You’re confident talking about key insights, learnings, and, if applicable, the impact of your work
You are:
Able to join us for the 10 week internship from the 22nd of June 2026 until the 28th of August 2026
Available to be in person most of the time at new HQ just north of Liverpool Street Station (we can support local travel costs if you need it)
Eligible to work in the United Kingdom
Qualifications aren’t that important to us. We want to work with the best people, no matter their background. If you’re passionate about learning new things, have a good understanding of design and are keen to join our mission, we’d like to hear from you.
And because we believe that diverse teams build better products, we’d especially love to hear from you if you’re from an under-represented demographic.
Additional InformationWhat you get back:
Have a real impact. Solve real customer problems
Salary of gross £30,784 pro rata
Fun offices with social activities - have a sneak peak of our new London office
Be part of a global team with a global mindset
Meet with some of the most influential people at Wise on this programme
Be mentored by a Design discipline expert
Develop your craft and experiment in a live environment
For everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive.
We're proud to have a truly international team, and we celebrate our differences.
Inclusive teams help us live our values and make sure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute towards our mission and able to progress in their careers.
