Description

Location: Europe-based (Remote)
Type: Freelance
Start Date: July 2025 (ASAP)

The Role:

We’re looking for an XR UX Designer to support the rapid prototyping efforts of our Demo team, contributing to the development of our immersive sports platform. This role focuses on quickly translating ideas into functional spatial experiences by applying existing UX patterns and modules—bringing the product vision to life in headset.

You’ll work closely with the Creative Director, Tech Lead and the rest of the UX team to develop wireframes and flows, iterate based on feedback, and collaborate with developers to ensure accurate and timely implementation.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, communicates clearly, and enjoys building within existing frameworks. You should be comfortable thinking creatively within constraints, and motivated by shaping the future of sports viewing in XR.

Requirements

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and document spatial interaction flows and layout logic for headset-based prototypes
  • Assemble new screens and UX flows using an evolving library of modular components
  • Adapt base content modules (e.g. game stats panels) for sport-specific uses
  • Create wireframes and mockups to inform developers and clients
  • Work closely with the Creative Director to translate abstract ideas into usable concepts
  • Support the Tech Lead in aligning designs with platform constraints
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure intended user experience is implemented correctly
  • Test and refine designs on headset, based on stakeholder feedback

What You Will Bring:

  • 3+ years of UX design experience, with at least 1 year working in XR or immersive environments
  • Experience designing for spatial or headset-based interfaces, including interaction with rectilinear and 180° video
  • Familiarity with ergonomic and accessibility best practices in XR
  • Comfortable designing within modular systems, adapting and reusing established components
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and creative team members
  • Hands-on experience working with Figma to convey spatial UX logic
  • A quick problem-solver with an eye for flow, usability, and spatial clarity

Bonus:

  • Passion for sports and affinity with how fans engage during broadcasts

Benefits

Benefits

This is a Nexus-led role, embedded in a highly collaborative, partner-facing development environment. You’ll help shape the way fans experience sports in XR—from how they press play to how they control, explore, and feel part of the action.

If you're excited about building the future of fan engagement through smart, human-centered design—we’d love to talk.
