Hybrid – 3 days a week in Dorking office

What will you bring?

We are looking for a UX Design Manager to lead the execution of the Unum UK UX strategy aligned to business goals and user needs, championing UX innovation (including AI-driven solutions) to deliver accessible, consistent, and best-in-class user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Lead and develop a team of UX professionals, ensuring alignment with product goals and design standards.
•    Champion user-centred design principles across the organisation, influencing senior stakeholders.
•    Own and evolve the Triple Diamond Design Process, driving consistent adoption across product teams.
•    Establish and maintain UX governance, including design standards, approval processes, and feedback loops.
•    Own and scale the Design System, ensuring consistency, quality, and adoption across digital products.
•    Drive Design Operations and AI-driven UX innovation to improve efficiency, scalability, and ethical, user-centred outcomes.

Skills & Experience:
•    Strong people leadership capabilities and behaviours, with relevant experience in people management and coaching strongly desired
•    Excellent communication and influencing skills, with confidence presenting ideas and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
•    Deep understanding of user-centred design principles, accessibility standards, and design systems at scale.
•    Advanced proficiency in Figma and other industry-standard UX and design tools.
•    Strong knowledge of modern web technologies, responsive design, and mobile-first best practices.
