GM Energy envisions a world where customers regularly receive value from energy markets that reduce or subsidize the cost of their electric vehicles and or provide backup power and bill savings. These "utility programs" are nascent and varied but are growing in value and development is accelerating. The utility team is sourcing and creating program design playbooks. The activation manager will play a central role in implementing these playbooks and demonstrating to the utility that GM dealers can promote and enroll customers into these programs as well as providing evidence to GM these programs provide material customer value and accelerate vehicle purchase.
This role is responsible for leading utility program integration across GM Energy marketing, dealer and direct sales, brand engagement, customer success, and product teams. The central purpose of this role is improving collaboration across teams to maximize utility program enrollment, GM brand electric vehicle sales, and GM Energy hardware sales where utility incentives can be leveraged as a purchase motivator. This position will own the establishment of baseline metrics and processes to measure utility program impact to support sales targets. The Utility Activation manager will establish clear alignment and accountability across internal teams and identify improvement opportunities as GM Energy scales its products and services to more customers.

- Drives customer participation in utility programs that create value for EV buyers and GM Energy customers.
- Bridges marketing, sales channels, and strategic partnerships under a unified utility enablement framework. It ensures that every team involved in utility-linked offerings is coordinated and accountable.
- Owns the measurement and optimization of utility program impact.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
- Increase utility program enrollments by developing targeted marketing and customer communication strategies, conducting A/B testing, leveraging customer insights, and prioritizing high-impact outreach channels.
- Drive utility program-attributed GM Energy hardware sales through strategic co-marketing partnerships with utilities and aggregators, and by creating enablement resources including training materials, sales scripts, and templates for dealer and direct sales teams.
- Optimize channel performance by monitoring engagement and conversion metrics, maintaining campaign roadmaps, and implementing data-driven improvements to maximize effectiveness and address underperforming initiatives.
- Partner with Utility team to identify and develop programs that directly accelerate electric vehicle sales. Co-develop reduced-cost EV leasing opportunities with utility and aggregator partners that tap into available grid-services revenue.
- Align and optimize utility program information across brand messaging, marketing touchpoints, CRM & mobile applications, home energy consultants (HEC), dealership communications, and other stakeholder groups and platforms, as applicable.
- Collaborate with GM Energy teams and other partners to co-develop customer and internal-facing program materials such as utility program guides and launch enablement kits.
- Organize & socialize lessons learned from current and out-of-market utility programs to improve sales and enrollment conversions.
- Proactively influence and challenge stakeholders to optimize performance, accountability, and utility program impact aligned with organizational KPIs and other team metrics.
- Define, monitor, and report metrics to establish and ultimately improve program performance.
- Communicate risks, troubleshoot roadblocks, and present solutions to leadership and across various stakeholders.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, marketing, or related field.
- 5+ years in sales, project or program management, or strategic enablement within energy, utilities, automotive, or electrification sectors.
- Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders including business development, product, engineering, marketing, dealer and sales teams in the GM ecosystem.
- Deep understanding of dealership operations, motivations and sales processes, including divisional programs and support structures.
- Prior experience with energy/utility incentive or rebates programs is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and hold partner groups accountable.
- Customer-first mindset, strategic thinker, and results-oriented.
- Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to present to senior leadership and craft compelling narratives.
- This is an execution focused role.
What Can Give You A Competitive Edge ( Preferred Qualifications):
- Master's degree in business, engineering, marketing, or related field.
- Familiarity with ESS and/or EV charging software and digital platforms.
- Experience driving participation in utility programs through sales and/or dealer channels. Experience with customer-facing enablement content, including dealer toolkits, program guides, and digital adoption campaigns.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and working across global and regional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, innovate and execute sales campaigns and playbooks.

- The expected base compensation for this role is ($105,600.00 - $140,700.00) USD Annually. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
