What you'll do...Role summary:
This senior, hands-on engineering role builds, modernizes, and operates Walmart’s enterprise SailPoint IdentityIQ platform. The engineer designs identity lifecycle workflows, access requests, certifications, role governance, policy controls, and risk capabilities. They develop integrations with Active Directory, Entra ID, Workday, RACF, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications using Java, APIs, and automation. The role also leads upgrades, platform hardening, monitoring, incident response, resiliency, and disaster recovery. Success requires deep IdentityIQ expertise, strong systems engineering skills, technical ownership, and the ability to balance security, reliability, user experience, compliance, and delivery speed.

The Security Identity Governance & Administration (SIGA) team enables Walmart to operate securely at global scale by ensuring the right people have the right access to the right resources at the right time. We design, engineer, and operate enterprise identity governance solutions that automate access management, strengthen security, simplify compliance, and reduce risk. Through scalable platforms, resilient infrastructure, and business-aligned governance, we help protect Walmart's associates, customers, data, and technology while accelerating the company's ability to innovate and grow securely.
What you'll do:
Engineer Enterprise-Scale Identity Integrations 
  • Engineer and maintain large-scale integrations between SailPoint IdentityIQ and: 
  • Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID 
  • Workday and other HR-driven identity sources 
  • Mainframe security platforms, including RACF 
  • Cloud platforms and enterprise applications 
  • Custom and internally built authorization systems 
  • Build custom connectors, rules, workflows, and APIs where out-of-the-box solutions do not meet enterprise needs. 
  • Automate identity operations through Infrastructure as Code and DevOps pipelines to reduce manual effort and operational risk. 
  • Design integrations for scalability, supportability, observability, and long-term maintainability. 
  • Partner with platform owners, application teams, security stakeholders, and business partners to ensure identity services scale safely. 

What you'll bring:
These are essential for success. 
  • Senior-level, hands-on experience with SailPoint IdentityIQ in a large, complex enterprise environment. 
  • Deep understanding of Identity Governance and Administration concepts and implementations. 
  • Strong systems engineering background across Linux, Windows, application infrastructure, directory services, and cloud platforms. 
  • Proven experience with Java-based enterprise platforms. 
  • Proven experience with APIs, web services, and custom integrations. 
  • Automation and scripting experience using technologies such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash. 
  • Experience operating mission-critical security platforms with high availability and strict audit requirements. 
  • Demonstrated ability to independently drive technical solutions, take ownership of outcomes, and deliver results in complex enterprise environments.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
