Reporting to the Sales Director for Marine & Protective, the overall purpose of this role is to manage and lead the assigned Customer Group(s) in the UK & Ireland through utilising Jotun’s sales tools and techniques to plan, execute and monitor sales objectives and collection to achieve sales budgets, improve customer relationships, profitability, and increased market share.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Ensure that projects and Key Accounts are managed and followed up to achieve customer expectations and sales targets.

  • Develop and implement proper strategies and programs by setting targets, selection criteria, and performance measures for subordinates to build and maintain a strong, effective, and reliable distribution network.

  • Close monitoring and following up on the implementation of agreed action plans to ensure that the overall performance coatings objectives will be met.

  • Develop and implement standard procedures, processing, and reporting to ensure the implantation of best practices are achieved through the teams.

  • Organise, develop, motivate, and lead sales teams by setting clear targets and framework, coaching, supporting, and following-up team members in line with The Penguin Spirit to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the whole team.

  • Conduct periodic performance reviews and feedback sessions with employees as required (KIT and yPOD).

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR AND WHAT WE OFFER

What we are looking for:

  • Extensive relevant experience within the protective coatings market is preferred.

  • The right candidate will be target focused and can demonstrate building strong relationships and team building skills.

  • A good understanding of the sales process and proven sales management experience is preferred.

  • Proximity to one of Jotun’s offices is preferred though remote options may be considered.

  • IT proficient

  • Strong commercial awareness

  • Has the ability to motivate a team of people

  • Coaching style of management
