Position Summary

Samsung’s Advertising Sales Team operates at the intersection of display advertising and connected televisions offering advertising solutions with the goal of helping our advertisers reach their target audiences across our TV platform and beyond. Using our unique first party data this is a new initiative at Samsung with the potential for massive growth and opportunity.
Samsung Ads (part of ESBO - European Service Business Organization) is responsible for identifying, evaluating and determining new opportunities on top of the global footprint of European Samsung Smart TVs. The EU advertising team is working to create value for partners, advertisers, and agencies through its unique insights into content consumption in the shifting media landscape.

Role and Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities

The UK Agency Sales Specialist provides the ability for someone looking to get into the fast growing area of Connected TV sales, to learn and develop how the full sales process for CTV works across the UK market, with the opportunity to create and grow their own book of business.

Core responsibilities to include:

  • To assist senior sales team with clients in all areas of client management and campaign delivery.

  • Serve as an internal point of contact for customer account management matters working alongside internal business and financial operations teams.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting internal sales and cross team relationships.

  • Develop trusted adviser relationships with key accounts, customer partners and executive sponsors.

  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives.

  • Clearly communicate the progress (to senior sales) of monthly/quarterly campaigns to internal and external partners.

  • Develop new business through identifying areas of improvement to meet sales quotas.

  • Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)

  • Prepare reports on account status.

  • Identify and grow opportunities within territory.

  • Creation of IOs based on confirmed media plans to share with internal teams.

  • Build and run inventory and data requests for custom audiences and work with CSM team to provide daily / weekly / monthly avails for planning.

  • Pulling and inputting data for the post campaign reports and working with operations team to generate screen grabs.

What we need for this role

To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Outstanding multi-tasking and partnership capabilities with a cheerful, pro-active attitude.

  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills. German / French / Spanish / Italian second language an advantage.

  • Passion for data and the creation of reports and documents fit for client facing purposes.

  • Good negotiation skills and the ability to respond to objections.

  • Be persistent, resilient and able to handle pressure but also be a good listener in order to understand clients’ needs. Ask questions.

  • They need to have a good awareness of targets and revenue and have strong self-discipline and attention to detail.

  • Independent, self-starter; comfortable with ambiguity, and resilient. Thrives in a team environment.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to provide comprehensive advertising solutions to prospective clients.

What does success look like?

Given this is largely a sales support role, ultimately success will be based on the candidate’s ability to support the senior sellers and over time develop their own patch of business – helping to drive revenue for the business.
In order to achieve success, the candidate will be expected to establish close relationships with senior sales managers, and media agency buyers, developing a deep understanding of our products, systems and offering.

Initially success will be measured through an evaluation period within the first 4, 8 and 12 weeks. Your manager will arrange meetings to discuss performance and to ensure we are doing all that we can to support your progress. After this probationary period your manager will support you and agree key success milestones.

Indicative achievements would include;

  • Week 1 Set Up

  • Weeks 2-4 Business Immersion

  • Weeks 5-8 Stand and Deliver – a presentation to show your understanding of our sales proposition

  • Months 2-3 More independent support of the sales patch

  • Months 4-12 Deeper agency and client engagement

The interview process

Whilst the interviews will be conversational, we will be evaluating the candidate on their experience, knowledge, attitude and team-fit.
A successful candidate is expected to demonstrate how they are aligned to Humility, Hard Work and Harmony.
