At Johnson Matthey, your work will matter. As a U.K. Regional Operational Excellence Specialist, you’ll join a world leader in platinum group metals with over 200 years of history. Using advanced metals chemistry, you’ll help tackle the world’s biggest challenges - cutting emissions, powering modern life and supporting life-saving technologies - by applying, refining and recycling metals that matter for a healthier, more sustainable, circular future.

The role:
As a U.K. Regional Operational Excellence Specialist, you will help drive our goals by:

  • Partnering with site leadership and operational teams to identify improvement opportunities that enhance performance across multiple U.K. sites.

  • Leading and supporting operational excellence programmes that improve productivity, quality, reliability, safety and cost performance.

  • Facilitating structured improvement activities, including Kaizen events, value stream analysis and problem-solving workshops.

  • Using data, performance insights and root cause analysis to resolve operational challenges and drive sustainable improvements.

  • Supporting the implementation and maturity of the Johnson Matthey Production System (JMPS) across the region.

  • Sharing best practices and helping build continuous improvement capabilities within site teams.

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:

  • Black Belt Lean Six Sigma qualification, or equivalent continuous improvement expertise.

  • Experience delivering operational excellence or continuous improvement initiatives with measurable business results.

  • Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and structured problem-solving methodologies.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Proven stakeholder management, influencing and facilitation skills across operational environments.

  • Experience working within manufacturing, production, logistics or other operational settings.
