About VFX

VFX Financial is one of the UK’s fastest-growing FinTechs, helping complex organisations move, manage, and protect money across borders. Built for specialist sectors, multi-jurisdiction structures, and high-compliance environments, we support businesses whose needs go beyond standard banking. We’re selective about who we work with because exceptional service requires focus and commitment.

With six international offices, five regulatory licences, and an 83% CAGR over the past three years, we’re scaling rapidly and earning industry recognition along the way — including the Financial Times FT1000: Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies 2026, CNBC UK’s Top Fintech Companies 2025, Wealth & Finance FinTech Awards 2026, and the Business Growth Award from Business Awards UK.

Behind it all is a team of ambitious VFXers united by collective ownership, a focus on growth, and a shared passion for solving complex problems.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced finance professional to establish and own a dedicated Treasury & Regulatory Finance capability across the Group. The role will bring clear accountability to cash forecasting, treasury reconciliations, cash generation and regulatory capital monitoring/reporting across VFX’s UK and international operations.

The role sits alongside the Financial Controller and FP&A function and is intended to strengthen the Group’s control over cash, liquidity and regulatory-capital positions. The successful candidate will be hands-on, comfortable with detail and able to build robust, repeatable processes in an evolving regulated financial-services environment.

A key objective will be to move activities that have historically been performed inconsistently, intermittently or as side-desk projects into a properly owned and controlled function, supported by appropriate automation and management information.

Key ResponsibilitiesTreasury, Cash & Liquidity
  • Own the Group cash forecasting process, including short-, medium- and longer-term cash forecasts.

  • Forecast interest income and interest expense and incorporate relevant assumptions into the cash outlook.

  • Monitor cash balances, liquidity and funding requirements across relevant Group entities and accounts.

  • Provide clear reporting and escalation of actual or forecast liquidity constraints, excess cash and material cash movements.

  • Support the CFO with cash-management decisions, banking relationships and treasury initiatives.

Regulatory Capital Monitoring & Reporting
  • Own day-to-day monitoring and reporting of regulatory capital requirements across relevant entities and jurisdictions.

  • Coordinate regulatory-capital submissions and supporting analysis, including FCA requirements for EMI / MiFID activities, DFSA Category 3D and MFSA requirements.

  • Maintain clear regulatory-capital calculations, supporting evidence, review controls and sign-off processes.

  • Monitor headroom against regulatory requirements and proactively flag emerging risks or breaches.

  • Work closely with Compliance, Risk and external advisers where regulatory interpretation or reporting support is required.

Reconciliations & Cash Generation
  • Own reconciliation of internal and house accounts and ensure breaks are investigated and cleared promptly.

  • Own the reconciliation of profit sweeps and the cash-generation bridge from revenue through to free business cash.

  • Work with Finance, Treasury, Operations and Commercial stakeholders to understand and explain material cash movements.

  • Improve the control, consistency and visibility of cash-generation processes across the Group.

Controls, Processes & Automation
  • Document and maintain clear procedures for treasury, cash forecasting, regulatory-capital monitoring and reconciliations.

  • Identify manual, spreadsheet-led or fragmented processes and implement practical improvements and automation.

  • Develop reliable management information and dashboards for cash, liquidity, regulatory capital and key reconciliations.

  • Establish clear review, exception and escalation processes and ensure a strong audit trail is maintained.

  • Support system and banking changes to ensure Treasury & Regulatory Finance requirements are considered before implementation.

Group Finance & Business Partnering
  • Work closely with the Financial Controller and FP&A to ensure cash, profit, working-capital and regulatory-capital views reconcile.

  • Provide treasury and cash insight for budgeting, forecasting, modelling and strategic decision-making.

  • Support new entities, products, banking arrangements and international expansion from a treasury and regulatory-capital perspective.

  • Provide clear written and verbal updates to the CFO and senior management on material treasury and capital matters.

Candidate ProfileExperience & Background
  • Qualified accountant, such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Strong experience in treasury, cash management, liquidity, regulatory capital, finance operations, or a comparable financial-services environment.

  • Treasury or regulated financial-services experience is highly desirable.

  • Understanding of regulated financial-services requirements, with experience supporting regulatory reporting or regulator-facing processes.

  • Experience working with complex cash movements, bank accounts, reconciliations, liquidity reporting, or treasury controls.

  • Experience building or improving finance, treasury, or operational processes from an imperfect starting point.

Technical Skills
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling capability, with excellent attention to detail.

  • Able to reconcile complex cash movements and explain differences clearly to senior stakeholders.

  • Comfortable working with finance systems, banking platforms, and treasury or regulatory reporting tools.

  • Experience with Power BI, dashboards, or equivalent reporting tools would be advantageous.

  • Strong interest in automation, systems improvement, and using data to improve visibility, control, and efficiency.

Core Competencies
  • Control Mindset: Understands the importance of accuracy, auditability, and clear ownership in a regulated financial-services environment.

  • Problem-Solving: Able to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and resolve issues in a practical and structured way.

  • Communication: Explains complex financial or operational issues clearly to senior stakeholders and escalates risks early.

  • Commercial Awareness: Balances control requirements with the needs of a fast-growing business.

  • Organisation: Manages competing priorities carefully and maintains discipline across recurring processes, deadlines, and reporting cycles.

  • Continuous Improvement: Looks for ways to improve processes, strengthen controls, and reduce manual work through systems, automation, and better data.

  • Ownership: Takes responsibility for assigned areas and follows through until issues are resolved.
