Translations Technology Portfolio Director

Location: UK

Responsible for setting product strategy and creating tailored technology solutions to support localizations delivery. This is a strategic and innovative role that contributes to advancing the technology-enablement of IQVIA Translations Services.

Responsibilities: 

•    Identify problems and opportunities, and design technology solutions that address them. This involves considering how the solution fits within the portfolio, current capabilities, and available resources.
•    Ensure that products are successful and operationally efficient in meeting business demands
•    Keep up to date on the market and competition, in particular AI innovations, combining business objectives and market intelligence to create and adapt product strategy. 
•    In association with delivery teams, establish methodologies for the successful adoption of the solutions into continuous operation. Create, maintain and update SOPs and guides as applicable
•    Ensure that product solutions meet information security and privacy requirements and standards. 
•    Drive innovation though adoption of emerging AI technologies, identifying ways to build new or embed with existing solutions, leveraging IQVIA’s Healthcare-grade AI initiatives. 
•    Oversee the development of new products, features and enhancements. Ensure timely delivery and manage the product roadmap, sprint scope, and timelines.
•    Build business cases for management approval, including required initial investment and ongoing cost projections 
•    Engage with internal/external partners and clients as needed. Evaluate business challenges and provide insights to the team to design effective solutions.
•    Collaborate with various business functions such as Delivery, Marketing and Sales throughout the product lifecycle, acting as a trusted partner.
•    Collaborate closely with cross-functional tech teams, including business analysts, developers and project managers to gather requirements, propose solution concepts, provide technical expertise and drive successful implementations.
•    Promote a culture of accountability and control. Lead initiatives to improve product performance and operational efficiency.
•    Comply with relevant and applicable IQVIA procedures and SOPs, including Quality Management System

Candidate Requirements: 

•    Bachelor's degree, ideally in technology or related field.
•    Minimum 15 years’ experience in language services industry
•    5+ years proven track-record in product strategy and product development for the technology-enablement of translation services.
•    Strong background in Machine Translation, CAT and Workflow Management technologies

•    Experience implementing transformational AI solutions including LLM’s and other Generative AI technologies.
•    Experience in implementation and maintenance of multi-product SaaS solutions, with a strong understanding of infrastructure, API integrations and information security. 
•    Experience of integrating 3rd party products and tools within translations tech solutions, directly managing such relationships and commercials   
•    Excellent written/verbal communication skills. Fluency in English is essential, an additional language would be advantageous
•    Customer-facing experience including commercials, with hands-on contribution to RFP/RFI responses and client pitches.
•    Proficient in managing budgets and ROI measurement/monitoring 
•    Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Proficient in the use of data and analytics solutions to drive evidence-based decisions.
•    Attention to detail, with the ability to transform business requirements into functional and design specifications.
•    Ability to meet deadlines and to manage competing/shifting priorities. 
•    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, managers, partners and clients. Must have experience managing multi-discipline, multi-country teams.
