We are seeking a talented individual to join our Translations team at Marsh. This role will be based at our London office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
What can you expect?
- You will oversee the entire translation lifecycle, from initial project evaluation to final delivery, ensuring accuracy, quality and timely completion.
- We will also rely on you to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement effective solutions.
- As the organisational backbone of our department, you will keep our team organised, aligned, and on track.
We will rely on you to:
- Develop project timelines and assess scope, ensuring all phases are completed with agreed parameters.
- Log work in and out of the Department on our central database, prepare projects for translators and communicate details as required with the team and our clients.
- Act as the point of contact between the internal clients and the Department.
- Use Translation Memory software to set up new translation projects, analyse documents and maintain terminology glossaries.
- Assess files and identify which sections need translating.
- Convert pdf files to Word format and edit them ready for translation.
- Attend regular meetings with the team and Translations Manager to review progress of projects and carry out follow-up actions as required.
- Assist translators with queries, reverting to the client where necessary.
- Liaise with the Translations Manager regarding departmental planning, diary management and room bookings.
- Liaise with external suppliers regarding outsourced work, raise POs and monitor spend.
- Ad-hoc administrative projects and duties as required.
What you need to have:
- Strong organisational and project management skills - the ability to plan, organise and execute projects efficiently and effectively.
- Knowledge of at least one of the following languages: French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch or Portuguese
- Excellent time management
- Excellent communication skills – written and oral, to communicate effectively with clients, translators and other stakeholders.
- Organised, methodical approach to tasks
- Attention to detail
- MS Office skills to include Word and Excel
- Excellent English language skills
