About the workstream:

Hiscox is undergoing a strategic transformation to enable profitable growth over the next 5-10 years. This transformation covers 18 workstreams, one of which is Retail Trading Systems (RTS). The RTS workstream has been created to ensure we maximise efficiency and scale across our three retail business units (US, UK and EU). The RTS workstream will work closely with the individual business unit workstreams as well as the technology and data workstreams. This is a highly strategic workstream with a focus on creating long term value and sponsorship from the group executive team.

Role summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and hands on project manager to manage the delivery of large and complex projects across the workstream. The role will be accountable for defining the delivery plan, in conjunction with a large number of stakeholders from business and technology teams. This will include standard project governance deliverables but also taking a pragmatic approach to identifying risks and opportunities in the plan. You’ll have the opportunity to work across our global retail business and interact with senior stakeholders in many teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership:

· Responsible for project governance and reporting to various steering committees and sponsor groups. This includes the top leadership of the group.

· Manage inter-dependencies across multiple projects and workstreams, ensuring alignment with business priorities and enterprise goals.

· Manage project budgets and benefit realisation forecasts to ensure business case is delivered

· Decide resource allocation across projects, utilising internal teams, contractors, and vendor partners as appropriate

Stakeholder Management:

· Partner with leaders, product owners, technology teams, and external vendors to ensure initiatives meet stakeholder expectations.

· Facilitate steering committees, executive updates, and working group sessions, ensuring decisions are well-informed, and risks are visible

· Balance competing priorities, motivate teams, and create strong partnerships throughout the organisation

Desired experience and capabilities:

· Proven experience in project or portfolio management, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry

· Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and managing large, complex projects with budgets >£10M

· Strong ability to create partnerships across the business. Including working with, and presenting to, a C-suite audience

· Confident working in various delivery methods including Agile, SAfE and Waterfall

· Able to prioritise activity, defining trade-offs and escalate decisions as needed. Including creating clarity in delivery roadmap for senior stakeholders

· Self starter who is comfortable supporting broader range of tasks as needed

· Successful leading project teams including Business Analysis, Process Excellence and other professionals

Reasons to join the team:

· Work across the entire Hiscox Retail portfolio, gaining insight into the global specialty business

· Visibility with Group Exec and engagement with senior stakeholders

· Develop strategic skillset, balancing short- and long-term delivery

· Driven and motivated team, supported by strong mentorship culture
