The role:

The position of data analyst is a key part of the Transfer Pricing (TP) team. If you have a passion for working with numbers, excellent attention to detail, and are not fazed by repetitive tasks, this position is perfect for you!

Your role as a TP Data Analyst supports the team by gathering, organising, and analysing financial and operational data to ensure intercompany transactions comply with TP legislation and the Chanel Group’s policies.

Key duties include detailed data analysis using data tools and technology and generally supporting the team with TP compliance work including TP documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Collection & Analysis: Prepare transaction tables for our TP documentation and support our year-end margin monitoring and tax risk management processes.  This will include extracting, cleaning, and analysing financial and transactional data from our ERP systems and other internal information, including the review and verification of data for errors and inconsistencies.

  • Documentation & Filing: Carefully file our TP documentation (including Local Files) and supporting documentation and working papers.

  • Benchmarking Studies: Gathering and analysing internal financial data to prepare internal comparable ranges of profit margins or comparable prices that can be used as a benchmark.  Benchmarking studies based on external comparable data are prepared by our TP advisers, but you may be asked to assist with reviews.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Evidence of strong numeracy skills is essential, such as a bachelor’s degree in accounting, mathematics, economics, or similar fields. Knowledge of Transfer Pricing or accounting is not essential as training can be provided.

  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a key requirement (data manipulation, pivot tables, modelling) and experience with, or aptitude for, database tools and Oracle applications. Ability to sense-check data (think through information, cross-check between different sources of information etc) and to identify and flag or resolve discrepancies. Can demonstrate creative thinking and ideas for improving processes.

  • Analytical Ability and Accuracy: Strong attention to detail, accuracy of work, and ability to interpret complex financial data is essential.

  • Communication: Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with stakeholders across different geographies.

  • Experience: 1-2 years previous experience in data analysis, accounting or TP/tax would be preferred.

You are energized by:

working with numbers and take pride in ensuring information is always accurate. You find satisfaction in precision and can maintain focus when dealing with both new and repetitive tasks. Your dedication and reliability make you a valuable and trustworthy member of the team.

At Chanel, we are focused on creating an inclusive culture that nurtures personal growth, contributing to collective progress. We believe the uniqueness of each individual increases the diversity, complementarity and effectiveness of our teams. We strongly encourage your application, as we value the perspective, experience and potential you could bring to CHANEL.
