Job Purpose:

To provide hands-on experience and technical expertise in the LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) and commercial fuel installation, with a primary focus on safety standards, system design, installation, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting.

The role aims to ensure the intern gains comprehensive skills in the practical and technical aspects of fuel systems to support efficient and safe operations.

Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Assist senior engineers in site surveys for new installations
  2. Identify and evaluate potential hazards in installation sites
  3. Shadow technicians during routine site inspections
  4. Assisting with small-scale LPG installation projects
  5. Participate in start-up and commissioning procedures
  6. Document all work and assist in generating reports for compliance checks
  7. Assist in the installation of fuel systems, including the setup of pumps, meters, and dispensers
  8. Practice troubleshooting common fuel system problems, such as pump malfunctions and leaks
  9. Attend operational training for fuel dispensing systems, including maintenance and calibration
  10. Conduct maintenance on LPG and commercial fuel systems under supervision
  11. Work on replacing worn-out parts, cleaning equipment, and ensuring proper functionality
  12. Assist in troubleshooting faulty systems and perform root cause analysis for system failures
  13. Participate in performance audits of installed systems
  14. Participate in drafting proposals for installation projects and conducting feasibility studies
  15. Attend meetings with clients to discuss design specifications and installation requirements
  16. Lead small project components, such as managing the installation of a specific segment of a fuel or LPG system
  17. Coordinate the procurement of necessary materials and equipment
  18. Manage and supervise junior technicians or subcontractors
  19. Review and ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets
  20. Work on optimizing fuel and LPG systems for efficiency and safety
  21. Analyze data from previous installations and recommend improvements for future projects
  22. Study failure modes and develop solutions for common issues (e.g., gas leakage, system failures)
  23. Participate in post-installation inspections and audits

Requirements
  • Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering or any related field.
  • Basic understanding of the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to work in varied outdoor environments and on a flexible schedule.
  • Computer proficiency and willingness to learn specialized software.
