JOB TITLE: Trading & Treasury Market Risk Manager

LOCATIONL: London

HOURS: Full Time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our hub locations.

About this opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Treasury & Trading Market Risk team within Lloyds Banking Group. We are looking for an experienced market risk professional with strong technical skills and a deep product understanding with a particular focus on xVA risks.

Day to day, you will:

  • Oversee trading desk activity across a variety of asset classes including rates, FX, credit, repo, and xVA, and use your deep product knowledge to ensure that risk taken is appropriately controlled.

  • Provide independent risk analysis on business proposals and activity, e.g. new product propositions, complex transactions and risk appetite

  • Provide independent oversight on market risk and xVA capital adequacy and accuracy

  • Use your technical communication skills to ensure that senior stakeholders within the Group understand the risks that are being taken

  • Shape and enhance the Group’s market risk framework — strengthening policies, risk appetite, methodologies, and the broader control environment

  • Develop and maintain a high level of technical knowledge on a variety of asset classes as well as a strong understanding of market dynamics

  • Contribute as a market risk SME on internal and regulatory change projects

  • Contribute to developing the team’s insight and analysis tools using VBA and Python

  • Support and develop junior risk managers, helping build a strong pipeline of technical expertise in the team

  • Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders including Trading, Finance and Quant teams

What you’ll need:

  • 8+ years of experience in a market risk, or market risk adjacent role

  • A deep end-to-end understanding of derivative pricing, market risk, capital requirements and xVA methodologies

  • A strong understanding of market risk metrics and their uses within a bank setting

  • Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills

  • A track record of building and maintaining effective working relationships across different functions

  • A strong working knowledge of Excel and other MS applications, Python, and query languages (SQL, MDX)

  • Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.
