Our Global Delta One desk is looking for a motivated Trader Assistant to support its busy operation. As we strive for operational excellence we need an individual who is responsible for the smooth running of all the trading operations and acting as the conduit for the traders to the wider DRW support teams. As a critical team member, working directly within the trading desk, this role will require becoming an expert in all of our trading applications and processes. With a continual improvement mindset you will also be responsible for automating manual tasks and working with the project teams to deploy the relevant technological solutions.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Operational responsibility for the developed markets, emerging markets, fixed income, and crypto exchange-traded product liquidity providing trading teams 
  • Ensuring trading systems are up and ready for the market open
  • Ensuring the desk’s positions and PnL are reconciled vs our back office systems at all times 
  • Submitting create-redeem requests and validating confirmations from ETF issuers
  • Automating and optimizing existing operational processes
  • Liaising with treasury to ensure all short positions have locates in place 
  • Assisting traders with drafting technical requirements of new application features
  • Participating in incident management process on the desk and coordinate with support teams to quickly resolve issues
  • Maintaining a database of fees, broker commissions and related costs
  • Booking of manual trades

Requirements: 

  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree in a numerical topic such as Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering or Maths
  • Strong with Excel and Python
  • Excellent communicator
  • Highly motivated individual with extreme attention to detail and a desire to achieve operational excellence 
  • Comfortable operating in a high consequence environment like proprietary trading 
  • Highly accountable and able to work independently
  • A desire to support and learn from the experienced traders you will be supporting 
  • Demonstrated experience performing as part of a high throughput team 
  • Desire to excel and exceed expectations for all tasks
  • Comfortable with doing manual work with a desire to improve and automate the processes as you learn them
  • Experience in a mid office or front office desk support role in a bank, hedge fund or asset management firm, is a major plus
