Our mission is simple: End Cyber Risk. We’re looking for a Threat Intelligence Researcher to be part of making that happen.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our mission is to develop cutting-edge technology and tools that enhance our core goal to end cyber risk, while delivering comprehensive security intelligence to our customers and the broader security community. Leveraging trillions of security events ingested, parsed, enriched, and analyzed each week, Arctic Wolf R&D is responsible for threat research, detection engineering, and driving improvements in the speed, scale, and efficacy of Arctic Wolf’s solutions. The team is composed of security and threat intelligence researchers, data scientists, and security development engineers with deep expertise in AI, security R&D, and advanced offensive and defensive security methods.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in the full software/detection engineering development life cycle
Build well-designed, testable, efficient, secure code and/or threat detections
Research and analyze emerging network-related threat vectors, threat actor tools, vulnerabilities and their exploitation, focusing on early detection
Propose and implement improvements to detection coverage and efficacy
Collaborate with the threat detection development team, product manager and other detection engineers to understand problems, then develop and test solutions in an iterative cycle
Work with the latest technologies and broaden your skillset
Meet regularly with the team to review progress and share technical issues
Implement bug-fixes and contribute to on-going product maintenance
ABOUT YOU
You have a blend of security research and development experience, and are passionate about making security better for clients every day:
Python or other programming languages for automation and detection development
Solid knowledge of networking and a drive to learn more about the use of networking protocols, their vulnerabilities, and how to detect/protect against them
Working knowledge of GitHub, Jenkins, and automated test tools
Detection engineering using Yara, Sigma, Snort, Suricata, or similar pattern matching languages/rule sets
Open Source IPS/IDS/NSM/NDR (e.g., Bro/Zeek/Suricata)
MITRE ATT&CK framework and its application in detection development
Intelligent, hard-working, and eager to share your code early and often
Experience working collaboratively in a remote or distributed team environment About Arctic Wolf
