Job Title: Test Strategy

Location: Ipswich or London

 

The Test Strategy role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality assurance across DCDLS delivery projects. They ensure rigorous test planning, execution, and reporting, and are accountable for the effectiveness of the overall testing function. The Test Strategy role manages test resources, sets standards, and collaborates closely with the Technology Delivery Team Manager to uphold testing quality across all client and core platform deliveries.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain testing strategy, standards, and templates across the DCDLS SDLC.

  • Plan and coordinate testing activities for all client delivery projects.

  • Line-manage testers within delivery pods, ensuring performance and development.

  • Own test environment readiness and coordination with DevSecOps.

  • Collaborate with BAs and developers to ensure quality user stories and testable requirements.

  • Track and report test metrics, defect rates, and release readiness.

  • Support automation strategy and tooling selection.

  • Conduct root cause analysis for high-priority issues and quality failures.

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

  • Deep understanding of test planning, execution, regression, UAT, and automation frameworks.

  • Experience managing testers across multiple projects.

  • Strong knowledge of JIRA, XRay, or similar test management tools.

  • Excellent communication, reporting, and collaboration skills.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a FinTech or blockchain environment.

  • Knowledge of secure software development practices and DevSecOps principles.

  • ISTQB certification or equivalent.

  • Familiarity with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.

  • Experience in regulated financial services environments.
