You will oversee test planning, execution, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives, while managing testing across multiple teams and vendors. The role also includes ownership of incidents within your technical area, driving root cause analysis, defect leakage measurement, and process improvements. Additionally, you will maintain a test coverage model, ensuring clear traceability, transparency, and reporting of quality metrics aligned to business objectives.

Typical Duties include:

  • Ensure test approaches are risk-based, standards-aligned, and appropriate for the delivery context.
  • Monitor test progress, triage defects, and escalate risks and blockers as needed.
  • Track and report on key quality metrics (e.g., test coverage, defect leakage, automation adoption).
  • Define and maintain a test coverage model for the team, ensuring traceability to business and technical requirements.
  • Take ownership of incidents related to testing within the team, ensuring thorough root cause analysis (RCA) is conducted and that corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
  • Identify and implement improvements to testing processes and practices based on incident learnings and delivery retrospectives.
  • Work collaboratively with central Automation, Non Functional Test teams to ensure alignment to the programme requirements and to preserve and drive consistent standards
  • Validate that Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) are planned and addressed.
  • Lead UAT planning and coordination across releases.
  • Support Planning to ensure test effort, dependencies, and resources are visible and accounted for.
  • Ensure entry/exit criteria are defined and met at each delivery stage.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in testing practices across the team.
  • Contribute to the test community of practice and champion quality across the organisation.
  • Ensure automation developed by feature teams is integrated into the central framework for reuse.

As the perfect candidate for this role, you will already be an experienced Test Manager with a strong track record of leading test strategy, governance, and delivery within Agile environments. You will be skilled at managing testing across multiple teams, driving quality standards, and partnering with stakeholders to identify, mitigate, and communicate delivery risks. An ISTQB certification, or equivalent testing qualification, is desirable.
