About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Territory Sales Executive to join the Perth Energy Team. You will spend your time out in a geographical territory meeting SME and large Business customers, generating leads, renewing and growing gas and electricity sales while delivering exceptional customer service. 

In this role, you will be responsible for generating and executing B2B gas and electricity sales through the provision of accurate and timely information, advice and proposals to prospective and existing SME customers on energy products and options that meet their business needs and align to AGL’s retail strategy.

This role is predominantly field-based role.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Undertaking all aspects of the sales process including ongoing account management with existing and new business.

  • Identifying, contacting, and acquiring new business with target business customers in accordance with retail strategy and KPIs through cold calling, client visits and utilising of warm leads to ensure a strong pipeline of opportunities.

  • Undertaking all aspects of account management and customer relations for designated/acquired account portfolio, instigating, and maintaining ongoing communication with customers at the appropriate time to minimize risk of churn or customers being out of contact.

  • Developing and maintaining good understanding of the energy retail cost structure and all relevant agreements and terms. Gain solid understanding of the energy market to have informed conversations with customers.

  • Populating CRM system, using of internal systems to generate energy proposals, providing information and reports including daily/weekly visits, calls, work activity and results to the Manager of Key Accounts.

What you’ll bring:

  • You are someone who loves being face to face with customers and has a positive, proactive and can-do attitude. Your natural ability to influence and negotiate will ensure your success in this role. 

  • Exceptional experience working in a field sales role where you have built positive relationships and maximise networking event opportunities.

  • Highly organized and autonomous individual, you will have established a track record in meeting targets in a corporate sales environment while maintaining exceptional customer service.

  • Commercial acumen, numeracy skills and the ability to effectively convey information about energy products and commercial terms, using systems to record results are equally important with intermediate or advanced Microsoft Office skills.

  • Self-motivated, high organised, positive can-do attitude, with a strong sense of timeliness, commercial acumen and numeracy skills, as well as efficient, strong attention to detail to effectively manage the requirements of a high volume of designated customers (200-300).

  • You must have a valid WA Driver’s Licence and own reliable car to travel in the Perth metro and some regional areas to visit business customers; with associated business-related expenses covered by the company.
