ING have 2 opportunities for recent graduates to join a new Technology Graduate Programme for 18 months

Join ING's UK Technology Graduate Scheme and embark on a dynamic journey through the heart of our technology department. This 18-month program offers two 9-month rotations, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of our technology landscape and the opportunity to develop a diverse skill set.

You will leave the program a capable and experienced engineer ready to join any technology focused organisation. ING offers comprehensive training programs, mentorship, and opportunities for continuous learning.

You will be encouraged to stay updated with the latest technology trends and best practices and you will also be supported to obtain at least 1 external certification or qualification during the scheme.

Throughout the program, you can rotate through various roles within the technology department, including but not limited to:

  • DevOps Engineer: Work on automating and streamlining operations and processes, building, and maintaining tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations.

  • Financial Markets Systems Engineer: Support and enhance systems used in financial markets, ensuring they meet the needs of traders and analysts.

  • Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Engineer: Identify, assess, and mitigate IT risks, ensuring the security and integrity of our internal and third-party systems.

  • Workplace Services Engineer: Manage and improve workplace technology services (O365. Windows), ensuring a seamless and efficient working environment while having in mind employee experience. Working closely with other IT support teams on projects and support a variety of technology solutions,

  • Business Management & Strategy: work closely with both business and technology teams to ensure that the organisation's technology architecture supports its business goals.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams to deliver high-quality projects.

  • Participate in the design, development, and implementation of technology solutions.

  • Analyse and troubleshoot technical issues, providing effective solutions.

  • Deliver consistent and insightful reporting and actionable metrics dependent on your rotation.

  • Stay updated with the latest technology trends and best practices.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the technology department.

  • Work with your peer technology graduate to deliver an independently driven deliverable, culminating a presentation to senior managers within the organisation.

Candidate Profile

Qualification/Education

  • Completed Bachelor's Degree (BSc.) as of September 2025

Experience/Knowledge

  • A natural user of new technologies such as generative AI and automation tooling.

  • Knowledge of and the ability to perform troubleshooting.

  • A basic understanding of programming languages, frameworks (such as Java and .NET) and software development concepts.

  • Basic understanding of project delivery principles and the ability to manage time and resources effectively, particularly in an agile way of working.

  • Comfortable using data and analytical methods to perform analysis and gain insights. 

Personal Competencies

  • Passion for technology and a desire to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.

  • Excellent communicator, professional demeanour, data-driven individual and independent problem solver.

  • Natural self-starter enjoys automation and making processes more efficient.

  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships within and outside the organisation.

  • A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing new ideas.
