What Is the Opportunity?
Travelers is looking for a Wordings Specialist to manage the control and development of Travelers own policy wordings!
You will work to review, amend and draft policy wordings to ensure compliance with underwriters' intended depth and breadth of coverage, to ensure that Market reform processes are embedded into Travelers operations.
Travelers Europe currently offers flexibility to employees who wish to work on a hybrid basis in accordance with our Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy. This entails full time employees working three days a week in the office and two days at home (or pro rata for part-time employees). This policy may be changed at the Company’s discretion.What Will You Do?
  • To review, amend and draft Travelers policy wordings and endorsements to ensure compliance with underwriters' intended depth and breadth of coverage
  • To review market, competitor and broker wordings against Travelers standard cover and advise the underwriters of differences and draft amending endorsements where required.
  • Act as a technical wordings reference point for underwriting business units and provide clarity and advice on wording issues.
  • Report wordings and documentation issues to underwriters/Manager on an exception basis so that underwriters are aware of the issues and can act accordingly.
  • To prioritise and resolve any wordings and documentation issues identified.
  • Work with the Delegated Authority Support Services, as required, to ensure appropriate wording of Binding/TPA Agreements themselves and accompanying Certificates.
Control & Process:
  • Maintain a review of wordings ensuring that the status of outstanding wordings is known at any time. Follow up to conclusion.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the wordings process. 
  • Liaise with underwriters to ensure that slips and wordings meet pre-bind quality assurance before inception. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with underwriters so that wordings and documentation issues are resolved quickly and to the satisfaction of all parties. 
  • To ensure consistency and integrity within wordings is maintained. 
  • To maintain Travelers discipline on managing the wordings and endorsements suite.
Product Development:
  • Support new and existing Product Development projects.
  • Support the robust, accurate policy wording and endorsement drafting, working within prescribed wording conventions as appropriate.

 

Technical Training:
  • Keep appraised of market and regulatory changes.
  • Share technical insight with team members and appropriate business areas
  • To attend, where required, both internal and external meetings and industry seminars in relation to wordings.
  • To develop and maintain appropriate training materials and provide training presentations to enable Travelers to achieve compliance with technical issues.

     

Other Duties:
  • Effectively prioritise your time, ensuring you meet deadlines and deliverables.
  • Develop Junior members of the team
  • Achieving the annually agreed performance objectives. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Educated to degree standard. 
  • Relevant wordings experience gained working within the Company or Lloyd's market. 
  • Relevant work experience gained within any of the following Property, Casualty, or Motor (from either an Underwriting or Claims perspective preferably with a legal bias). 
  • Previous exposure of London Market systems/processes beneficial.

  • Strong attention to detail & accuracy, coupled with excellent analytical & problem solving skills.

  • Acts with a sense of urgency. 
  • Works effectively with all levels and can build new relationships.

  • Experience drafting policy wordings. 
  • Experience managing projects.
