Technical Test Lead

Location: East London- 2 days office based per week

Work Pattern: Full time/12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Security Clearance: Active SC required

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Technical Test Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in leading and executing technical testing activities, particularly in ServiceNow and JIRA environments. This role requires an individual who goes beyond defect logging and ticket completion, actively driving technical testing strategies, execution, and collaboration with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive test approaches, plans, and completion reports tailored to project objectives and quality benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and monitor test activities effectively.
  • Lead and execute technical testing activities within JIRA and ServiceNow, ensuring thorough and efficient coverage of all testing scenarios.
  • Go beyond defect logging—drive meaningful test execution, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
  • Advocate for best practices in technical testing and influence process enhancements across teams.
  • Oversee end-to-end testing for ServiceNow projects, ensuring high-quality implementations and seamless upgrades.
  • Manage testing activities for Windows re-platforming projects, including Windows 10 to Windows 11 migrations and M365 solutions.
  • Write detailed technical test scenarios, execute test cases, and ensure defects are logged and resolved.
  • Coordinate UAT efforts, ensuring alignment with business goals and user expectations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to validate outcomes and secure delivery approvals.
  • Effectively utilise tools such as JIRA and Confluence for test documentation, tracking, and reporting.
  • Maintain a detailed audit trail of testing progress and defect resolution.
  • Present technical information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders and senior management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment and support.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in ServiceNow project testing, including implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
  • In-depth understanding of Windows re-platforming projects, including Windows 10 to Windows 11 migrations.
  • Knowledge of M365 deployment and integration testing.
  • Proven ability to lead and execute testing activities beyond defect logging, focusing on technical scenario execution and issue resolution.
  • Strong experience in JIRA and ServiceNow testing environments.
  • Extensive experience in writing test approaches, plans, and completion reports.
  • Adept at designing, executing, and managing technical test scenarios with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in JIRA and Confluence for managing test documentation and workflows.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard testing methodologies and frameworks.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills and a results-oriented mindset.

Desirable:

  • ISTQB certification or equivalent.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Background in IT infrastructure or systems integration.
