We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical System Analyst to join our homebased team.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for articulating the product functionality that needs to be delivered on our software projects. This role is crucial in ensuring that the solutions provided by our Development department meet the client’s business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing the business objectives and requirements for a project and ensuring that all of the necessary information has been provided.
  • Working with colleagues inside and outside the Development department to explore possible options on how the business objectives and requirements could be met.
  • Developing a functional design that meets the business objectives and requirements, and articulating it via a clear set of product requirements.
  • Breaking down the product requirements such that each lower level requirement is a clear and testable deliverable.
  • Ensuring that a baseline scope is agreed for software project during its planning phase, and that it fulfils the business requirements.
  • Closely working with developers and testers to ensure that the agreed product requirements are well understood, fully estimated and included in the team’s scope of work.
  • Reviewing the new functionality that’s delivered by the team to ensure that it fulfils the agreed scope.
  • Implementing a rigorous change control process on the agreed scope of each project.
  • Supporting business stakeholders as appropriate in the development of business requirements.
  • Following the Development department’s agreed requirements management processes.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of the department’s requirements management processes.
  • Taking a leading and pragmatic role in discussions on a project’s scope or changes to its scope, to ensure that business requirements are met as best as possible within any cost or time constraints.

Person Specification

  • Demonstrable systems analysis experience in a software delivery context.
  • Excellent pensions domain and product knowledge would be beneficial but NOT essential.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong influencing skills, encompassing demonstrable emotional intelligence.
  • A systematic and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
