TECHNICAL SENIOR SEO SPECIALIST

The Role:

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Technical SEO Specialist to join our growing SEO team. This critical role will be responsible for ensuring the optimal crawlability, indexability, and performance of our luxury e-retail websites. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical SEO expertise, a strong understanding of web development principles, and a passion for the luxury e-commerce space.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive technical SEO audits to identify and diagnose website issues impacting search engine performance (e.g., crawl errors, indexing problems, site architecture issues, Core Web Vitals).
  • Develop and implement technical SEO strategies to improve site health, crawl budget efficiency, page speed, and overall organic search rankings.
  • Collaborate closely with our web development and IT teams to ensure SEO best practices are integrated into all website changes, redesigns, and new feature launches.
  • Lead the technical SEO aspects of website migrations, including planning, execution, and post-migration monitoring to ensure a smooth transition and minimal impact on organic performance
  • Manage and optimize XML sitemaps, robots.txt files, and other directives to guide search engine crawlers effectively.
  • Implement and manage structured data (Schema.org markup) to enhance rich snippets and improve search engine understanding of our content.
  • Monitor and report on website performance metrics, including Core Web Vitals, site speed, and crawl statistics, using tools like Google Search Console, Lighthouse, and other relevant platforms.
  • Oversee the implementation of redirects, canonical tags, and hreflang tags for international SEO strategies.
  • Ensure our website is optimised for mobile-first indexing and provides an exceptional mobile user experience.
  • Provide clear, actionable technical recommendations to development teams and stakeholders, translating complex SEO concepts into understandable terms.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (3-4 years) as a Technical SEO Specialist, preferably within an e-commerce or luxury retail environment.
  • Proven experience managing the technical SEO aspects of website migrations.
  • In-depth understanding of search engine crawling, indexing, and ranking factors.
  • Strong proficiency with technical SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, OnCrawl, Lighthouse, and other site audit tools.
  • Familiarity with web development languages and frameworks (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, etc.) and their impact on SEO.
  • Experience with implementing and validating structured data (Schema.org).
  • Knowledge of server-side SEO considerations (e.g., server logs, caching, CDN).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A keen interest in the luxury e-retail industry and an understanding of its unique requirements.
  • Passion for AI and its applications in SEO, with a strong interest in exploring automation, machine learning, and AI-driven insights for optimisation.

Bonus Points:

  • Proficiency in SQL for SEO data analysis.
  • Experience with Python for SEO data manipulation and automation.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of applying statistical methods to SEO data.
