Biotage is seeking a Technical Sales Specialist for Biomolecules & Advanced Therapeutics to drive growth across our biomolecule purification and advanced therapies portfolio across the UK and Nordics.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded commercial professional who understands the challenges faced by researchers and biopharma organisations working in areas such as protein purification, biologics development, cell and gene therapy, and advanced therapeutic workflows.

You will combine scientific expertise, consultative selling skills and customer engagement to help organisations accelerate discovery and development through Biotage’s innovative solutions.

Role & responsibilities
  • Drive revenue growth across Biotage’s biomolecule and advanced therapeutics portfolio, managing the full sales cycle from opportunity identification through to customer adoption.

  • Develop strong relationships with scientists, researchers, and decision makers within biopharma, biotechnology and academic organisations.

  • Understand customer workflows and challenges, providing technically relevant solutions that support applications including protein purification, biologics development, and advanced therapeutic research.

  • Deliver engaging product demonstrations, technical presentations, seminars and workshops to showcase Biotage solutions.

  • Support customers with application discussions and workflow optimisation, acting as a trusted scientific partner.

  • Generate, qualify and develop new opportunities through customer engagement, networking, events and collaboration with marketing.

  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Global Sales, Marketing and technical teams to develop market opportunities and customer solutions.

  • Represent Biotage at industry conferences, trade shows and customer events across the region.

  • Work closely with automation and technology partners to support integrated workflow solutions.

Skills and experience
  • Degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related life science discipline.

  • Experience working with biomolecule workflows, such as protein purification, chromatography, biologics, or related analytical/preparative techniques.

  • Commercial experience selling scientific instruments, consumables, software or workflow solutions within Life Sciences, Biopharma or Biotechnology is essential.

  • Strong technical understanding of applications including: protein purification and characterisation, chromatography workflows, cell and gene therapy applications

  • Ability to translate complex scientific challenges into customer-focused solutions.

  • Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.

  • Comfortable engaging with customers in laboratory environments and supporting technical discussions.

  • Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce experience advantageous).

This role would suit someone currently working in a technical sales, field application specialist, scientific support, or research role who wants to combine scientific expertise with customer impact and commercial growth.

Working environment

This is a field-based role requiring regular customer engagement, including visits to research laboratories and customer sites across Europe (typically 2–4 days per week).
