Job Summary

Responsible for driving success in achieving product plan goals through strong technical expertise in client services, training, and solution design. Utilizes this technical knowledge in customer support, instruction, and product implementation, while collaborating closely with key stakeholders across the organization to deliver impactful results. If selected for this position, the company will run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report. A requirement of this position is an acceptable MVR report.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Boost product sales by discovering and leveraging opportunities in the designated territory.

  • Advocate for product specifications at architectural and engineering firms and DOTs to ensure that company products are included in project designs.

  • Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers, including architects, engineers, consultants, and specifiers.

  • Deliver compelling, technically accurate presentations and lunch-and-learns to promote product value and performance benefits.

  • Offer expert guidance on product selection, application methods, and compliance requirements for customers and specifiers.

  • Monitor regional construction trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities.

  • Track competitor products and market trends to inform sales strategies and support product positioning.

  • Partner with Marketing, Inventory Planning, and R&D to provide field feedback and support promotional campaigns.

  • Ensure company products are specified and used in key projects from planning to execution.

  • Align new product launches with customer needs, ensuring market readiness and driving early adoption.

  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activity, and opportunity tracking through CRM tools.

Nature and Scope

  • Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.

  • Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the expected results. Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.

  • May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees' professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.

  • Proficient in calculating discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, and other measures, and know introductory algebra and geometry concepts.
