About the role

RBR’s sales team combines technical expertise with a commitment to ocean science. We partner with leading organizations and researchers around the globe to deliver high-quality instruments and reliable customer support.

We are looking for an experienced Technical Sales Manager to grow our presence. In this role, you will drive sales by developing new opportunities, expanding customer relationships, and representing RBR as a trusted partner. You will connect researchers and organizations with advanced technology that supports important oceanographic and environmental research.

This role is ideal for someone motivated by achieving results, building long-term partnerships, and creating tailored solutions that meet customer needs.

What you’ll do
  • Present and promote RBR instruments to scientific and technical users

  • Develop and maintain a strong client portfolio (research institutes, universities, environmental engineering firms, etc.)

  • Expand, nurture, and retain customer relationships

  • Grow and manage the customer base, ensuring long-term partnerships

  • Identify, develop, and sustain business opportunities

  • Prepare commercial offers and respond to tenders

  • Identify new market opportunities and prospects within oceanography and environmental sciences

  • Represent the RBR brand and values at conferences, trade shows, and workshops, showcasing our innovative solutions and expertise.

What you bring
  • A degree in sciences or engineering (BSc, MSc, or PhD) or equivalent experience in high-level technical sales

  • Ideally, 5+ years of technical sales experience, preferably in oceanographic, marine geophysics, or related scientific instrumentation fields

  • Proven ability to work directly with academic institutions, government agencies, and private organizations

  • Experience collaborating with end customers and through local agents to deliver exceptional sales results

  • A customer-focused mindset paired with a sense of urgency, passion, and purpose

  • A talent for finding better ways, for customers and for RBR, through innovative thinking and problem-solving

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills that inspire trust and foster lasting partnerships

  • This role requires travel approximately 25-50% within North America, primarily in Eastern Canada and the United States though actual travel may vary based on business needs

Nice to have
  • Experience in ocean technology and measurement

  • Degree in Oceanography or a related field

  • Familiarity with CRM systems; Salesforce experience is a plus
