About Nothing

Nothing exists to make tech feel exciting again.

We’re building a different kind of technology company, one that puts design, emotion, and human creativity at the heart of everything we do. From the way our products look and feel to how we communicate and show up in culture, we believe technology should make you feel something.

Founded in London in 2020, we’ve grown from idea to global challenger in just a few years. Backed by GV (Google Ventures), EQT Ventures, and C Ventures, and investors like Tony Fadell (iPod), Casey Neistat, and Kevin Lin (Twitch), we’re now sold in 40+ markets with millions of users worldwide.

About the Team

We are Nothing, and we’re building something better. This role is central to our Industrial Design Team, embedded within our small design studio in King's Cross, London. We move fast because we’re small and independent, working alongside designers, creative technologists, and engineers to invent, prototype, and ship the technology of the future. Your focus is on managing the lifecycle of Nothing's Essential products (Phone, Headphone), ensuring the design vision translates accurately to mass production. You will be the embedded Project Manager for the Industrial Design Team (approx. 10 people), reporting directly to the Head of Industrial Design, operating with direct and clear communication.

What You'll Do

  • Manage hardware and software project schedules, resources, and deliverables for UK Experience and Engineering teams, demonstrating pragmatic project planning and completion abilities.
  • Provide excellent and clear communication and coordination, acting as the bridge between cross-functional product development teams and wider corporate functions like Marketing  and Brand.
  • Identify and track critical Experience and Engineering risks, and then scale mitigation plans across the wider teams and business to prevent delays.
  • Drive accountability through meticulous, sharp documentation, tracking, and communication protocols, ensuring excellence across the entire process.
  • Keep stakeholders informed about project status, milestones, and issues, acting as a technical translator between engineering and non-technical parties.
  • Identify and implement project management process optimisation and improvements, continuously challenging pre-existing methods to improve speed and efficiency.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience of 5+ years as a Project Manager in hardware or software engineering, with experience in electronic product development as a bonus.
  • A strong track record of shipping products and a deep understanding of the product development lifecycle (NPI) and modern engineering practices.
  • Experience working with creative, designed and innovative teams, spanning hardware, software, and experience design, with strong technical and clear conceptual communication skills.
  • Exceptional data presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills; you must be an owner capable of representing and defending the Industrial Design team’s vision at every stage.
  • A self-motivated, proactive individual who demonstrates high drive and is happy to negotiate and not afraid to challenge existing processes in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to act as a human and direct intermediary, ensuring the team's creative vision remains intact while operating with pragmatic time and budget constraints.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and amazing collaboration skills are essential for success in this role.

How We Work

  • We build better tech by moving fast. That speed demands direct collaboration and shared creative energy. We believe the best work happens when we're together.
  • Location: London (Kings Cross & Farringdon offices).
  • Working Pattern: This is a full-time, in-office role (5 days a week). We move fast, and that means being physically present. We design flexibility around personal needs, but we focus on the magic that sparks when we’re all in the same room.
  • Commute: We ask that you live within a 60-minute commute of your home office location.
