The Opportunity

We are looking for an exceptional Technical Project Manager to join our team, driving key   initiatives within our SaaS product engineering department. This role will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of Workhuman's product initiatives, with a strong emphasis on driving change and ensuring high visibility across the organisation. The candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, be deeply familiar with the software development lifecycle, and be able to navigate complex technical requirements while keeping the team aligned and focused. 

 

What we can offer you: 

  • You will have the opportunity to own the end-to-end project lifecycle, from defining requirements to final delivery. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation.  

 

  • You will ensure effective communication with senior leaders, providing them with regular updates and strategic insights to align project goals with organizational objectives. 

 

  • You will actively collaborate with Product, Engineering, QA, UX/UI, and other cross-functional teams to translate high-level requirements into clear project goals and milestones, navigating ambiguous situations with confidence and driving decisive action. 

 

  • You will be involved in cross-functional team initiatives, by adapting best practice project management methods and acting in a ‘scrum of scrum’ role as and when needed. 

 

  • You will proactively identify, assess, and manage critical project elements, maintaining a comprehensive risk log register that provides actionable solutions and mitigates issues that could affect project timelines and outcomes, ensuring continuous progress and alignment with project goals. 

  • You will be responsible for Aligning resources, including developers, designers, and QA, to ensure project needs are met, removing blockers, and ensuring a smooth project flow. 

  • You will ensure all project documentation, including reports and Jira updates, are accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to stakeholders. You will provide regular status updates and post-mortem analyses to drive continuous improvement, especially in how we manage and deliver software engineering projects. 

  • You will be a primary point of contact for project-related updates, ensuring transparent, timely, and effective communication across teams and stakeholders. 

The Skills you will bring.  

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Technical Project Manager or in a similar role within a SaaS or product-driven organisation 

  • Solid understanding of software development processes and SaaS architecture; ability to engage with software and platform engineering teams, and product teams in technical discussions.  

  • Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and experience applying them in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Asana, or similar for managing tasks and tracking project progress. 

  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve technical project-related issues, ensuring smooth progress towards goals. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience working with stakeholders at various levels, including senior leadership. 

  • Experience with coding, software engineering, or QA processes is a strong advantage. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred, or equivalent experience. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Certifications: PMP, PMI-ACP, or other relevant project management certifications. 

  • SaaS Knowledge: Understanding of SaaS product lifecycles, cloud environments, and scalability requirements. 

 

 Achievements: 

  • You have successfully led and delivered a major change project that required significant influencing skills to bring stakeholders on board and ensure seamless implementation. 

 

  • You have successfully lead projects that required proficiency in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, as well as the ability to manage projects that involve both legacy systems and new technologies.
