The Role

You will drive the end to end project management activities, along with technical planning and delivery of a number of work streams across our Enterprise Technology vertical. You will have expertise in managing deliverables across teams (Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Networks, AWS Cloud) in a fast-paced, agile environment. You will ideally have creative, media or publishing experience working across multiple International Markets and timezones. 

Your work will enhance our Cyber security & infrastructure deliver by ensuring solutions across our environment are delivered in align to both Condé’s internal requirements and the best practice recommendations.The Technical Project Manager role will be responsible for leading the global Infrastructure and Cyber Security projects, making sure it is delivered on time, efficiently, following global standards whilst meeting local requirements By achieving this you will ensure that our people, brands and millions of customers are using the latest technologies which are fit for purpose and in a seamless fashion.

The Team 

You will be working alongside international colleagues across the world, working with stakeholders in our US and UK HQs as well as within our 10 other markets. We strongly emphasise cross-functional working through partnering directly with our functional pillars in Technology for Product, Engineering, Architecture, Design, UX and Delivery; as well as our business partners in Consumer Marketing, Commerce, Commercial and Licensing, Editorial and Data.

What will you be doing?

  •  Provides overall direction and leadership for the delivery and implementation of the set of Infrastructure/Cyber Security projects.

  • Project manage end-to-end delivery, from inception to go-live. Provide structure and rigour to the delivery of projects including the definition and maintenance of plans, milestones and success criteria.

  • Create and maintain the following documents on a weekly basis understanding all the key steps and requirements 

  • Detailed Project Plan

  • RAID Log

  • Change Log

  • Dependency Log Communication plan

  • Experience in Infrastructure, network, servers, storage, 3rd party vendor management, email solutions such with having had personal accountability for their outcome and also ideally have some Cloud services experience

  • Experience with the Implementation of Security Controls and frameworks such as CIS20 for both hardware and software e.g. Device Hardening, Host based firewalls, Web filtering, Vulnerability, Threats, Security policies & best practices.

  • Take the high level project brief and break down to a detailed plan, dependencies, risks, issues understanding each component of the project and resources required to complete the project

  • Mapping out key stakeholders and their accountability as part of a RACI matrix

  • Owns and executes on all programme and pmo requirements, meeting all standards and stage gating and governance requirements

  • Assisting the larger team in: Preparing large cadence, presentations, capturing & cascading the meeting notes etc.

  • Working with hardware vendors and partners to make sure all hardware delivered to site and ready for installation according to the timelines

  • Define and Transition support to BAU teams as part of the delivery

  • Lead prioritisation and planning across multiple work streams to ensure we meet agreed plans with clear success criteria and measurable results

  • Lead regular cross-functional delivery forums with teams globally (US, UK & India predominantly). Lead regular forums with third party technology providers.

  • Work across cross-functional Condé Nast Engineering teams to ensure accurate technical resources are allocated to deliver plans on a short-, mid- and long-term basis. 

  • Identify and manage project dependencies at a cross-functional level including technology, design, editorial,, commercial, as well as finance, legal and data privacy

  • Own stakeholder communication across your projects to communicate schedules, priorities, dependencies and risk. Provide accurate and timely status reporting for multiple audiences, including executive leadership, program office, and project teams

  • Assist with production of business cases, manage budget, resource and capitalisation tracking and work with the business and technology leadership to define, articulate and identify how to measure benefits. 

Who you are

  • Highly proficient in End-to-End Project management methodologies, phases and activities

  • Experience of running technology projects, ideally including Server, Storage and Networking Firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto), Monitoring Deployments, Patching Solutions and email solution deployments (Mimecast).

  • Have experience with Cloud technologies and projects and deployment to them. Ideally AWS. 

  • Experience implementing complex IT infrastructure projects. In a Technology field, ideally in the Media or publishing Industry.

  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously and ability to deliver in a timely fashion where feature launches are tied to revenue goals.

  • Experience with the Implementation of Security Controls and frameworks such as CIS20 for both hardware and software e.g. Device Hardening, Host based firewalls, Web filtering, Vulnerability, Threats, Security policies & best practices.

  • Ability to establish and maintain a culture of risk and dependency management.

  • High attention to detail including precise and effective planning and documentation across risk and dependencies logs.

  • You are self-driven, comfortable with ambiguity and motivated to deliver results-oriented outcomes

  • You are highly collaborative and able to effectively communicate technical concepts to different audiences. You build trusted relationships and can demonstrate proven success in negotiating priorities and supporting informed decision-making across at all levels of the organization

  • You are able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and have a successful track record of delivering complex global initiatives to schedule and budget.

  • Experience with Project Management and Agile Software Development toolsets: JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheets, Windows Suite (MPP, Excel), Google Docs and Airtable 

  • You have excellent written and verbal English communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing leaders, across functions including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.

  • Project Management accreditation, either, or similar to Prince 2 or PMP/PMI certification.

  • Experience with IT best practice frameworks (ITIL, LEAN, AGILE) 

  • You love working with a global team and are flexible to adjust hours accordingly

  • You demonstrate the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively
