The Opportunity:

commercetools is seeking a Product Marketing Manager to help drive positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy for commercetools Platform, the foundation and technical backbone of all of our offerings. 

As our Product Marketing Manager, you will be at the forefront of technology and take an active role in shaping the future of ecommerce. You will be creative in explaining complex technical concepts to a breadth of personas with various technical aptitude levels, analytical in using available data and research to determine positioning and messaging that resonates, and communicative in leveraging internal knowledge bases to understand our product offering fully. You'll be working closely with our Product leadership to shape the future of the product. 

 

Your Mission:

 

  • Develop a deep understanding of the customers and users of the commercetools Platform to influence how we launch innovation and how we prioritize our roadmap
  • Refine the differentiated messaging and positioning of commercetools Platform as the core of all our offerings to drive thought leadership and support revenue growth
  • Own the joint value proposition for commercetools and key infrastructure partners (Google, Microsoft, AWS, MongoDB)
  • Develop a deep understanding of the customers and users of the commercetools integrations and connectors
  • Collaborate with multiple teams on new capabilities and solutions launches
  • Influence cross-functionally across Product, GTM, and Marketing to drive alignment on strategy, narrative, and priorities
  • Develop sales collateral and partner with Sales Enablement to support global sales effectively and at scale
  • Cultivate storytelling skills to amplify differentiated narratives through campaigns, customer conversations and events; partner with Content & Customer Marketing to drive thought leadership and customer stories content creation
  • Identify market opportunities through an understanding of industry, customer, and competitive trends

 

What you need to succeed:

 

  • 4+ years experience in product marketing or technical marketing
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional, and global organization
  • You are a strategic thinker - you like to build a deep product knowledge and figure out how to highlight our key product differentiators in an impactful way, influence roadmaps, and develop compelling launch plans
  • You know how to enable and educate internal audiences to drive meaningful and actionable content
  • You know how to turn data into a story. You know how to turn a story into a presentation. You are able to clearly articulate complex concepts to leave a lasting impression
  • You can get things done with your strong sense of accountability and ownership
  • Track record of turning deliverables into repeatable processes that support scaling up the product marketing function 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically in creative storytelling and presentations
  • Ability to work independently to obtain results
  • Excellent project management skills

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, MS Azure)
  • Familiarity with the ecosystem of commerce platforms (SAP Hybris/Commerce Cloud, Shopify, etc.)
