Position Overview:

With our ongoing success in business growth, we are expanding our Technical Department and have an opportunity for a Technical Operations Manager, managing the day-to-day operations of our Technical Department. The role is focused on supporting the functioning of the technical department to ensure continuous improvement and ongoing profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the resource pool to ensure that projects are adequately resourced.

  • Managing the interface with other departments to ensure that scope, cost, and programme for technical support is clear and agreed.

  • Managing and negotiating commercial terms with technical subcontractors.

  • Support with development of delivery strategy for technical projects.

  • Write and implement processes for technical department operations.

  • Support with financial management of technical department.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Engineering degree, or equivalent engineering experience.

  • Achieved or working towards chartered engineer status

  • Strong understanding of engineering management.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite in particular Excel, Word, PowerPoint 

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident and have a flexible approach to work. They will be customer focused, passionate about energy efficiency, renewable energy and decarbonisation.  They should be able to demonstrate good organisational skills including the ability to multi-task, prioritise work under pressure and complete within deadlines. Proven ability to manage and complete complex projects in a timely, cost-effective and customer focused manner.
