Why we're hiring:

WPP Enterprise Technology (ET) is transforming how WPP works. We're modernizing with cloud-first infrastructure, consolidating campuses for a better client and employee experience, and shifting from a single IT outsourcing provider to a multi-supplier model. Finance plays a crucial role in this transformation, guiding the move to a more agile IT environment and the development of in-house R&D platform products. This requires expert technical financial skills, commercial acumen, and operational awareness to strategically advise Controllership and Business Partnering functions.


What you'll be doing:

Reporting into the Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include:

  • Accounting Expertise: Lead global accounting policies and processes for Enterprise Technology, advising Finance Business Partners (FBPs) on technical accounting (Capex, R&D, asset transfers, etc.).
  • SOX Compliance: Design, implement, and oversee SOX controls, expanding coverage to ~50 countries.
  • Financial Management: Manage month-end close, reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and the actuals cycle. Produce the Central Finance Accounts pack.
  • FBP Partnership: Guide and support FBPs on technical accounting, driving quality and accuracy.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with group accounting functions (tax, treasury, etc.) and internal teams (FBPs, Controllership, Shared Services, etc.).
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team responsible for intercompany reconciliations, P&L analysis, financial statement preparation, payroll, headcount reporting, and SOX control operation.


What you'll need:

  • Accounting qualification, with/or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in a complex international environment either with or for multi-national companies is desirable for this role
