About the Role

There’s a new opportunity within either our competence center based in our satellite center based in Preston, UK for an established Technical Copywriter to join our team. Reporting directly to the Technical Documentation Manager, you’ll play an integral part contributing to produce engaging written material.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, lab engineers, product managers, marketing, etc., to ensure user-focused technical documentation according to our group standards and core values.

This is what we see as your role

  • Create, manage and communicate all technical / graphic literature (i.e. installation, users, service manuals, spare parts, etc) according to ECRs or NPDs, using BDR Group authoring, illustration and product life management tools.
  • Manage activities and workload by gathering product information from R&D and/or any other department requirements.
  • To be responsible for ensuring the BDR Group translation process is managed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the monitoring and document submittals, including document submission dates and revision history through the life of the products.
  • To keep abreast with the wide range of specialist skills in the technical / graphic fields and to combine traditional methods of working with the new technologies (i.e. document digitization).
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of documentation processes and standards.

Your knowledge, skills, experience and character include

  • Educated to degree / HND level in technical writing domain.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in technical writing.
  • Proficient in the operation of Tridion Docs and Oxygen is necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy and consistency in written materials.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Sharepoint, etc), Adobe Acrobat, and other relevant software applications.
