More about the role

We’re looking for a passionate, customer-focused Quality Assurance Analyst to join our Produce & Horticulture team. In this field-based role, you’ll ensure that all Fresh Produce, Horticulture, Meat, Fish, Poultry, and Chilled products accepted into our Regional Distribution Centres (RDCs) consistently meet specification through targeted, systemised inspections.

You’ll work with a UK-wide team of Quality Assurance inspectors, taking action when non-conformities arise and championing a culture of quality across logistics sites. By delivering accurate, timely quality data and collaborating across the end-to-end supply chain, you’ll protect product safety, reduce waste, and safeguard quality for our customers.

What You’ll Do

As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you’ll:

  • Work with a team of Quality Assurance inspectors across UK logistics sites, ensuring strict adherence to inspection schedules and processes.
  • Oversee Food Experts inspection reporting, ensuring clear, high-quality, and timely data is shared across daily, weekly, and period reporting cycles.
  • Inspect incoming product against specifications to protect customer satisfaction and availability, setting up temporary specifications when appropriate.
  • Support the Morrisons Quality Check programme, running seasonal product assessments and driving continuous quality improvements.
  • Champion a quality culture within depots by coaching handling and picking standards and challenging practices that could impact product quality.
  • Handle product withdrawals and recalls with urgency, managing supplier and store visits (announced and unannounced), and hosting depot visits.
  • Provide technical expertise to help reduce waste, improve product availability, and support central technical trials and projects.

Key Relationships

You’ll work closely with:

  • Internal QA Teams and At-Source Technical Teams
  • Produce and Supplier Technical Managers
  • Produce & Horticulture Buyers
  • RDC Operations and Leadership Teams
  • External Growers, Suppliers, the Rural Payments Agency, and SGS

More About You

You’ll be a resilient, self-motivated quality professional with a deep passion for fresh food, excellent leadership capabilities, and a customer-first mindset

You’ll have:

  • Proven capability in working with a remote, geographically dispersed team across the UK.
  • A minimum of 2 years' Quality Assurance experience working directly with fresh food categories.
  • Strong knowledge of fresh produce, horticulture, or end-to-end supply chain operations (farm to store).
  • Excellent communication, numerical, and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge operational practices constructively.
  • The resilience to remain calm under pressure and make sound, fast-paced technical decisions.
  • A full UK driving licence and flexibility for travel
