Are you fascinated by how accurate and timely data can deliver business success? Do you want to help a wide-range of clients succeed with the help of data? If yes, you’ll be the perfect fit for our Research & Consultancy team!

We’re looking for a technical and data-literate technical account manager who can devise, sell and help deliver a range of bespoke data-led projects.

Quick disclaimer: This is not scientific research or management consultancy, but has elements of both (pretty great right?). If this sounds right up your street, read on!

👋 About us

We’re a data company. We track every private company in the UK, with a particular focus on the most exciting and innovative ones. Our online platforms help our clients to discover, track and understand these companies, and our Research & Consultancy team provides bespoke research, analysis, and reports based on this data and more.

We work with venture capital firms, big financial institutions, major banks, leading universities, and the Government to help them find and work with companies that drive disruption and innovation across the economy.

We’re at a pretty exciting stage right now—we’ve built a profitable, high-growth business, with 140+ employees and an enviable client list. But we’re not done yet. We’re on a mission to become a global data company that helps every organisation discover, understand, and work better with the UK’s private companies.

🥖 The Role

Our Research & Consultancy team uses our data to deliver bespoke projects for our clients, helping them to understand the UK’s private company landscape and the ecosystem that surrounds it.

Our bespoke projects include creating custom datasets through manual research or using AI and LLMs. We also provide consultancy to help clients understand and manage their own datasets, as well as helping them to integrate new data.

Day-to day, your responsibilities will include:

🎯 Devising, targeting, and selling bespoke projects

🧠 Selling LLM-derived datasets

📈 Helping clients manage their own datasets and integrate new datasets

📊 Managing and part-delivering bespoke projects with the help of the existing team, ensuring seamless execution from inception to completion.

🤝 Building and maintaining relationships with leaders in the industry, keeping up to date and responding to their challenges and priorities.

 🫵 About you

We’re looking for an individual with at least three years of relevant experience in consultancy and/or associated research. Ideally, you’ll have some experience working with public sector clients, demonstrating an understanding of their unique needs and challenges. Some level of coding experience is a must-have for this role.

You’ll also have previous client-facing experience or skills including pitching, and have experience analysing and visualising large and complex datasets.

Ideally, you’ll be:

  • A natural people person: You find it easy to get on with all sorts of people and like the idea of working with lots of different clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Ambitious: You go above and beyond what is asked of you and are excited to develop your own projects & hit targets.
  • Analytical: You like working with data and can take meaning from the numbers.
  • A self-starter: capable of thriving in an autonomous role and driving initiatives forward independently.

🕊 Our offer

We're offering a competitive starting salary (£50-70k base depending on experience, + bonuses).

On top of this, we invest a lot in keeping our people happy and healthy. So as well as your salary, you'll also get:

🍰 A stake in the company: Substantial options scheme, so you can share in the growth that you help create

🎓 Professional development: Ongoing training and development, and free courses and books

💻 The latest tech: We’ll provide you with all the tech you need to be productive (including a MacBook), whether you’re in the office or working from home

🌲 Health and wellness: Free counselling and leadership coaching, wellbeing baskets, and healthy snacks

🎉 Events: Drinks every Friday, interesting talks from industry experts, company-wide parties and away days, plus regular team socials

🚄 Subsidised travel: Rail season ticket loan, free railcards, and a cycle-to-work scheme
