Own the architecture, development, security, CI/CD, monitoring, and technical direction of 1inch’s iOS crypto wallet. Build modular wallet features, integrate backend and blockchain services, improve testing and release stability, and collaborate with Product, Android, Backend, Blockchain, and QA teams. Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly while protecting sensitive user data and maintaining high engineering, security, and reliability standards.
1inch is the DeFi ecosystem building financial freedom for everyone. 1inch products help users and builders trade, hold and track digital assets - with the self-custody, comprehensive security and the intuitive user experience they need to unlock the potential of true crypto ownership. 1inch protocols and APIs provide core infrastructure across the DeFi industry and beyond. So if you're someone who thinks big, moves fast and wants to make an impact right from day one, then get ready to join our industry-changing team.
The Role
As Tech Lead, iOS, you’ll be the primary technical owner of the 1inch Wallet iOS application. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with no direct people management responsibilities. You’ll own the app’s architecture and development, improve its CI/CD workflow and monitor it after release. You’ll work on wallet features including perpetual trading, prediction markets and DeFi staking, collaborating with the Product Owner, Android Lead and QA. You’ll also use AI-assisted tools in development and testing, applying sound engineering judgement to the code and tests they generate.
What you’ll do
- Own the iOS architecture and technical direction, balancing feature delivery, maintainability, performance and security.
- Build and improve modular, testable application components, and guide implementation across complex wallet flows.
- Implement wallet features and technical improvements across the iOS application.
- Integrate the application with backend services, blockchain networks and related wallet services.
- Work with Product, Android, Backend, Blockchain and QA on shared product behaviour, API integrations, test coverage and defect investigation
- Use AI-assisted tools in development and testing, reviewing and validating their output against engineering, quality and security standards.
- Protect sensitive information by keeping private keys, recovery phrases, credentials and user data out of AI prompts and inappropriate logs.
- Own and improve the iOS build and CI/CD workflow; monitor releases, investigate production issues and coordinate fixes and improvements to stability.
Who you are
- You have strong hands-on iOS development experience with Swift, including experience building production applications.
- You have practical experience working on a Web3 product, such as a wallet, DeFi application or product integrating with blockchain networks, and an understanding of crypto and trading.
- You have experience with iOS build and CI/CD workflows and monitoring production applications.
- You have experience making technical and architecture decisions for an iOS application.
- You communicate technical trade-offs clearly and work well with Product, Android and QA.
- You are comfortable taking ownership of the iOS application while working independently as its primary iOS technical owner.
- You are pragmatic: you can move quickly while keeping reliability, security and maintainability in mind.
- You use AI tools thoughtfully, question their output and take responsibility for the code you deliver.
Nice to haves
- Experience building or maintaining a non-custodial wallet.
- Experience with transaction signing, wallet recovery or transaction lifecycle flows.
- Experience building modular, testable applications and handling asynchronous operations and network failures.
- Experience with security-sensitive mobile functionality, mobile security reviews or incident response.
- Hands-on experience with UIKit or SwiftUI; experience with both is not required.
