About the Position

We are looking for a Tax Specialist to fill a newly created role on our expanding UK/EMEA Tax team. This role is based in our London office and offers a rewarding opportunity to gain regional tax experience while joining a firm that is growing globally.

You will be responsible for Corporate income tax and Indirect tax (VAT) return compliance, filings and processes. You’ll work closely with colleagues and external stakeholders to manage tax filing deadlines, support ad hoc tax projects, improve tax processes, review ongoing tax law changes to identify their potential impact on the firm and assist with audits and enquiries raised by tax authorities.

Other responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Withholding tax (WHT) return compliance and filings and managing our internal WHT processes
  • Transfer pricing (TP) study report reviews, master file notification filings and submissions
  • CBCR/FATCA/CRS and other tax compliance filings
  • Building internal controls over tax disclosures in the financial reports, and preparing various reconciliations between accounting records and tax returns
  • Working closely with our global Tax team to ensure ongoing business support
About You
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) with 2+ years of post-qualification experience in a tax role, ideally in-house with a major financial services firm or within the financial services practice of a leading accountancy firm
  • Possess a strong technical knowledge of UK taxation and ideally some experience with the tax regime of one or more additional European jurisdictions (such as the Netherlands)
  • Broadly understand direct and indirect taxation principles, including double tax treaties and transfer pricing principles
  • Interested in learning a variety of tax processes and significantly broadening your experience, curious around our global business and the tax issues that impact it
  • Strong communicator who can describe detailed problems with brevity and accuracy
  • Detail-oriented and analytical with a “can-do” attitude when resolving issues
  • Can prioritise and manage multiple workflows in a challenging, fast-paced environment
  • Experienced with automating tax preparation processes; able to identify and reduce process inefficiencies
  • Fluency in English required
