Role Summary

As the tax function expands globally, we are looking for a skilled EMEA Tax Manager. This person will support tax compliance, reporting and operational tax matters in the region.

The Tax Manager EMEA will be responsible for overseeing tax compliance and reporting across the EMEA region. This includes handling filings related to direct taxes as well as indirect tax obligations, supporting tax provisioning processes. Coordinating with finance and tax teams globally, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations. The role is ideal for a candidate with an operational approach, excellent organisational skills, and a collaborative approach to working within an international team.

The role will partner closely with Finance, Legal, Commercial, Treasury, and external advisers, and support the Director with practical advice on business initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the timely and accurate preparation and submission of direct and indirect tax filings across multiple EMEA jurisdictions, working closely with in-country finance teams and external advisors.
  • Coordinate tax compliance processes, including return review and audit support, ensuring adherence to local tax laws and internal policies.
  • Support the preparation of tax provisions for EMEA entities in accordance with local GAAP and/or IFRS, ensuring alignment with global reporting timelines and standards.
  • Assist with operational tax matters such as withholding taxes, VAT compliance, tax registrations, and tax audits or inquiries from local tax authorities.
  • Work closely with global tax and finance teams to implement procedures and drive consistency and efficiency across tax processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date tax compliance calendars and documentation, ensuring robust control and risk management.
  • Find opportunities for automation and process improvement within the compliance and provisioning cycles.
  • Act as a point of contact for internal collaborators and external consultants on EMEA tax compliance matters.

What We're Looking For

  • At least 5 years’ experience in corporate tax compliance gained within a multinational organisation or Big 4/public accounting environment.
  • Professional qualification in Tax, Accounting, or Finance (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CTA) preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of EMEA direct and indirect tax rules, reporting obligations and tax accounting standards.
  • Experience in Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE tax products, or similar technology, is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with tax compliance in the technology, SaaS, or software development industries is highly desirable.
  • Previous delivery of operational improvements through automation, data analytics, large language models, or other new technologies/tools will be viewed favourably.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work effectively across borders and time zones.
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Collaborative team player with a continuous improvement mindset.
