The Opportunity

Citi is seeking an experienced Lateral Recruiter at the Vice President level to support the end-to-end recruitment strategy for the Markets business across Global Equities and UK, European & MEA Sales, based in London. This is a consultative, high-impact position operating at the intersection of talent strategy and a complex, fast-moving front office environment. The successful candidate will work closely with senior business leaders and HR partners to attract and secure top-tier talent across sales, trading, structuring, and associated business lines. Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for Front Office Markets roles across primarily across Equities and regional sales, but with secondary coverage across other business lines, from initial brief through to offer acceptance and onboarding, supported by best-in-class execution teams.
  • Act as a strategic talent partner to senior Markets stakeholders and HR Business Partners, providing credible market intelligence, competitor benchmarking, and pipeline insights to inform hiring decisions.
  • Develop and execute proactive sourcing strategies utilising LinkedIn Recruiter, direct networking, and referral channels to build diverse, high-quality candidate pipelines.
  • Advise senior stakeholders on talent acquisition strategy and candidate feedback, maintaining proactive communication throughout the hiring process to drive timely, well-informed decision-making.
  • Manage senior and complex lateral processes, including navigating competing offer scenarios, compensation structures, and regulatory background screening in partnership with the relevant teams.
  • Ensure full compliance with Citi's internal hiring policies, regulatory requirements, and best-practice recruitment governance, including appropriate risk assessment and escalation where required.

What We Need From You

  • Proven experience in financial services recruitment, ideally gained within a Tier 1 investment bank or specialist financial services search firm, with a track record of delivering complex lateral hires across all levels.
  • Strong Markets product knowledge across one or more asset classes (e.g., fixed income, rates, FX, equities, credit, or commodities), with the ability to credibly engage with senior front office professionals and assess candidate suitability.
  • Relevant talent acquisition experience, with demonstrated ability to operate in a consultative model and manage multiple requisitions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled in advanced sourcing methodologies including Boolean search, social media channels, and proprietary network mapping, with the ability to identify passive talent in competitive markets.
  • Commercial understanding of compensation structures relevant to front office Markets professionals, including deferred compensation, and the nuances of regulatory-related remuneration frameworks.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to advise and challenge senior hiring managers and HR partners, underpinned by clear written and verbal communication and sound professional judgment.
