The Boeing Global Service (BGS) P-8 Modification Integration Team (PMIT) is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate or Mid-Level System Engineers in Tukwila, Washington. PMIT is an engineering team dedicated to execution of post-production P-8 modifications, including capability improvements, obsolescence impact mitigation, and other sustainment-adjacent activities. The team's expertise spans supply chain, engineering, lean projects, operations, and U.S. government contract development.
This role focuses on the analysis of individual aircraft systems relative to an overarching system of systems while balancing specific customer and operational needs to balance lifecycle performance and cost for multiple P-8 modification customers.
This position entails regular direct interactions with the customer, program and engineering leadership, and technical subject matter experts. These engagements require strong written/oral communication, presentation skills, adaptability, proactiveness, and technical problem-solving skills. Ideal candidates leverage their strength in technical analysis and creative problem-solving to integrate across a diverse set of P-8 engineering functions, P-8 sustainment integrators, engineering and program leadership, the US Navy customer, and suppliers.
The P-8 is a military derivative of the successful 737 Next Generation (NG) aircraft and is utilized by aviators to conduct patrol and reconnaissance activities around the world.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Integrate projects across internal Boeing stakeholders and suppliers to drive on time and at cost delivery of P-8 modifications
  • Engage with U.S. Navy and foreign military customers to support program-level problem solving and support for issues with P-8 modifications
  • Identify, document, and escalate risks, issues, and opportunities (RIO) and their mitigation plans utilizing the Boeing Opportunity Risk and Issue System (BORIS) tool
  • Assist with customer (external) and Boeing (internal) major program reviews, readiness meetings
  • Perform project engineering tasks including cost, schedule, risk, and earned value management to drive affordability measures
  • Evaluate and integrate engineering changes utilizing the P-8 change process to ensure cross-functional collaboration, sound technical solutions, and on-time engineering releases

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 3+ years of engineering experience
  • 1+ years of experience working with military or commercial derivative aircraft
  • Experience in a role that requires strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills
  • Experience developing and managing strong relationships with partners (internal & external), and suppliers
  • Experience delivering technical presentations to executive teams
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally 25% of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 5+ years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc)
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance
  • 2+ years of experience integrating work across cross-functional and interdivisional teams, including with external suppliers and / or government entities
  • 2+ years of experience in a role requiring project and / or program management skills
  • Experience leading and representing technical engineering projects
  • Experience and working knowledge with the P-8 aircraft
  • Experience with export and global trade controls

Summary pay range Level 2 (Associate): $98,600 - $133,400
Summary pay range Level 3 (Mid-Level): $119,850 - $162,150
