Job Profile Summary

The role reports into the Product Management Lead and will be responsible systems analysis from one of four Product Management functions within the Chaucer Technology Group (CTG). This role sits in a team as part of the evolution of the operating model and is instrumental in modernising the ways of working.

This role requires a hands-on deliverer with a technical and analytical background. The role has responsibility for delivering the product management vision and roadmaps within their given Product team and supporting the end-to-end product lifecycle. It also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Architecture, Service management, and Quality & Technical Assurance within a matrix IT organisation

Job Description

  • Deliver the product strategy and long-term vision for their products
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of existing hardware, software, and IT systems to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects and QA to build and integrate new systems.
  • Develop and present proposals for new or modified systems, including cost-benefit analyses, budgets, and timelines.
  • Monitor and maintain existing systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure optimal efficiency and uptime
  • Provide support and training to users on new or upgraded systems, and create detailed user manuals and documentation
  • Identify risks associated with new tools, processes and ways of working and establish procedures to mitigate those risks
  • Work closely with management and end-users to define and document system requirements, specifications, and workflows
  • Being an active member of the Product Management team

Technical Delivery Management:

  • Ensure work is completed to the highest quality standards.

Technical Oversight:

  • Provide analytical support to the product team. Ensure the adoption of best practices and the latest technologies. Ensure standardisation, simplification and effectiveness across the application value chain

Vendor Management:

  • Monitor and review vendor performance against agreed KPIs and metrics
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including management, clients, and partners, to understand their needs and ensure successful product outcomes.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with product activities.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of product initiatives. Continuously seek opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Skills and Competencies

  • Relevant industry experience in technology roles, with previous experience in a technical analyst position within the insurance or financial services industry.
