Job Summary

The Vice President, Business Development is a quota-carrying leader responsible for driving revenue growth, market expansion, and long-term business value. This role develops and executes growth strategies through strategic partnerships, enterprise customer expansion, and go-to-market initiatives aligned with organizational objectives.

As a senior leader, the Vice President partners cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Customer Success, Finance, and Executive Leadership to identify growth opportunities, establish strategic relationships, and accelerate business performance.

The role is accountable for business development results, strategic partnership outcomes, pipeline growth, revenue contribution, and achievement of assigned growth targets. The position may lead a team of business development professionals and is responsible for ensuring alignment with company goals and delivering measurable business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes business development strategies that support corporate growth objectives and market expansion.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and pursues strategic partnerships, alliances, and business opportunities that drive revenue growth and competitive advantage.
  • Leads complex commercial negotiations, including partnership agreements, strategic initiatives, and enterprise business opportunities.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with executive-level stakeholders, customers, partners, and industry influencers.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional leaders to align business development initiatives with company strategy, product direction, and go-to-market priorities.
  • Evaluates market trends, competitive activity, customer needs, and emerging technologies to identify new business opportunities.
  • Establishes key performance indicators and monitors business development performance, pipeline growth, partnership effectiveness, and revenue contribution.
  • Develops business cases, growth models, and strategic recommendations to support investment and expansion decisions.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and performance management for business development team members, as applicable.
  • Serves as an executive sponsor for strategic customer and partner relationships.
  • Supports organizational planning, forecasting, and operational initiatives related to business growth and market development.

Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Skills

  • 12+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, enterprise sales, or related leadership roles.
  • Proven track record driving revenue growth, developing strategic business opportunities, and executing complex commercial agreements.
  • Demonstrated success building, leading, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to establish credibility and build relationships with senior leaders, customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience leading complex negotiations and managing large-scale business initiatives.
  • Strong business acumen with effective communication, collaboration, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, evolving, and cross-functional environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans that align with organizational goals and business objectives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered. #LI-NA1
