Sustainability Policies, Controls & Data Analyst

JOB SUMMARY 

Equinix, the world’s leading digital infrastructure company, is seeking a versatile and skilled professional to join our team as a Sustainability Policies, Controls, and Data Analyst. This role integrates data management expertise and governance acumen to develop, implement, and oversee policies, controls, and data systems that meet emerging sustainability regulations and assurance requirements. Reporting to the Global Director of Sustainability Performance and Reporting, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening our sustainability reporting and performance governance infrastructure and advancing our sustainability goals. Your contributions will enable robust data systems, insightful analysis, and adherence to best practices. If you have a proven track record in designing scalable policies, processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leveraging data for strategic decision-making, we invite you to bring your expertise to Equinix. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Policy and Control Design 

  • Develop and maintain sustainability performance and reporting policies and standard operating procedures aligned with regulatory, assurance, and industry requirements 

  • Design and monitor internal controls to ensure accuracy, integrity, and validation of sustainability data used for external reporting and ensure performance is above targets. 

  • Collaborate with internal audit, accounting, ops, and finance teams to align sustainability performance and reporting policies, processes, and controls with broader organizational ones and external assurance providers. 

Data Governance, Management & Analysis 

  • Partner with Sustainability Tech team to standardize and enhance how we manage sustainability data for reporting, assurance, and performance improvement purposes, while ensuring scalability, accuracy, and consistency. 

  • Partner with the Enterprise Data Governance, Process Improvement, and Sustainability Tech teams to achieve all the above. 

Training and Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Develop and deliver trainings to internal teams on sustainability reporting and performance policies, controls, and processes, enhancing overall capabilities. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 2+ years of experience in assurance, data, controls, and/or statutory reporting. 

  • Solid understanding of ESG frameworks and relevant regulatory requirements. 

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, such as Power BI and Smartsheet. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, environmental sciences, data science, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred. 

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. 

  • Strong ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams. 

  • Experience in building scalable ESG processes and controls is a plus.
