Surveyor/ Senior Building Surveyor - Building Surveying

An opportunity has arisen for Surveyor/ Senior Building Surveyor to join our Building Surveying team in Bristol. The team deals with a range of investor clients including M&G, Legal & General and Hammerson as well as corporate occupier clients such as Barclays. 

The successful candidate will join a busy regional office and be working alongside other internal departments such as Capital Markets, Agency, Property and Asset Management, Valuation, Lease Advisory, Planning and Rating to provide holistic, commercial advice to our clients.

We are looking for an outward-looking Building Surveyor with a sense of ‘team spirit’ and an ambition to deliver excellence.

What this job involves

  • Undertaking all aspect of Building Surveying, including:
    • Undertaking Building Surveyor's inspections and preparing reports
    • Preparing specifications for, and administering, repair and refurbishment contracts
    • Assisting and acting as Principal Designer for Construction (Design and Management) Regulations and Building Regulations
    • Preparing and negotiating schedules of dilapidations/ preparing exit strategies
    • Preparing planned preventative maintenance plans
    • Undertaking building reinstatement cost assessments
    • Reviewing alterations proposed by Tenant’s
    • Preparing and agreeing schedules of condition
  • Assisting with co-ordination of portfolio instructions and undertaking other duties from time to time as may be reasonably required
  • Making sustainable business links with both external and internal clients and offering a professional and excellent client service at all times
  • Some travel will be required in this role

  • Required to have the ability to work within a team and on own initiative
  • Must be enthusiastic, proactive and self-motivated
  • Must have strong verbal and numerical skills, and be comfortable with report writing
  • Requires excellent time management and general organisational skills
  • Is required to be flexible and have the ability to work under pressure
  • Must be well presented and have excellent communication skills
  • MRICS (Building Surveying) with proven experience, preferably PQE in a commercial consultancy
  • Experience of AutoCAD an advantage
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle
