The Support Engineer will provide level one and two support for trading applications, execute automation to reduce operational burdens, monitor system health, and liaise with traders and developers. Participation in on-call rotations and weekend shifts may be required.
Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Support Engineer to join our Application Reliability Engineering team.
The Application Reliability Engineering team covers day to day operations and overall maintenance of Tower software infrastructure responsible for all front-office aspects related to global markets.
Responsibilities
- Solving problems by providing level one and level two support while managing a rich suite of trading applications
- Proposing and executing automation efforts to keep the operational burden low and to enhance reliability
- Monitoring daily reports and run of scheduled jobs
- Monitoring and reporting on the status and health of our systems
- Serving as the primary technical contact for the whole trading team, engaging in direct communication with traders and developers
- Participating in on-call rotation and occasional weekend shifts
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
- Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash
- Thorough understanding of Linux fundamentals and basic knowledge of OS concepts
- Experience with configuration management, source control, automated deployment
- Knowledge of SQL and use of databases
- Background in C++ will be a plus
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
